Just thinking about a recent Facebook status of mine, where I mentioned being at Barnes & Noble, hearing that Hawaiian Christmas song (from Christmas Vacation) and watching all the people walking around so relaxed, enjoying their night. That really got me in a festive, holiday mood.

What gets you in the holiday spirit? :goodvibes

Watching Christmas movies, decorating and enjoying some hot chocolate always does the trick for me! It's not hard, though. I love Christmas so even just seeing displays in stores puts me in a holiday mood! (I wish they would wait until after Thanksgiving, though!)

"Mele Kalikimaka"!! I love that song!! :goodvibes

Definitely seeing the holiday displays in stores and getting out our christmas lights for the house! A good trip to Disney always helps to jump start that process as well. :) :cool1:

Darlene Love singing "Christmas, Baby Please Come Home"

I love Christmas music, but this is my favorite.

David Letterman has had her on for many, many years, just a few days prior to Christmas to sing this song.

I love seeing all the holiday displays at the various stores and this gets me Christmas shopping which really contributes to the my holiday spirit! Also here in Alaska it reallys starts to get dark and cold......and hopefully snowy! And of course, listening to the podcast going to MVMCP and the decor, etc. :lmao:

Music and Christmas candles! Yankee Candle has a whole selection of pine, cookie and cinnamon scents that always get me in the mood :goodvibes

I'm in the mood once October 31 passes!

Although I love Yankee Candles, I can't burn the Christmas scents until the day after Thanksgiving. From September 1 till then I burn the autumn scents. Yes...I'm crazy!

No that totally makes sense to me. Until Halloween I was burning pumpkin-anything scents. Now I'm on to Christmas, I just can't wait lol

For me, it's the Christmas lights. Especially when they are up in downtown Denver, and they are on during a snowy afternoon. Looking at the lights through the snow as I drive home always gets me in the holiday mood :lovestruc

Lighting my Menorah 3 weeks ahead of y'all... (Hanukkah is early this year!)

Sayhello

I need to have some cold weather, a dark night, and lots of music! We have had some warmer-than-normal weather in NY so it's hard for me to feel in the Christmas mood.

Definately the Christmas music. In fact, XM Holly Radio channel 23 just came online today. :rolleyes1

OK - two weird ones.

"If I Ruled the World" by Kurtis Blow (got it around Christmas in high school)

Band Of Brothers. Watched it with my dad at Christmas a couple of years before he passed.

Dinner at Rockefeller Center, once the tree is lit.

Christmas windows at Macy's and Lord & Taylor.

Snow in Central Park.

Thanksgiving Day parade.

My boyfriend and I went to the Biltmore House yesterday and it was all decked out for Christmas and it got me in a good Christmas-y mood. But what really got me thinking Christmas was the scent of mulling spices! That's my absolute favorite :goodvibes

This is weird for me, as I used to be in my university choir, so I would be singing Christmas songs from October! This year I am relying on the volunteer work I do- standing outside supermarkets collecting money for local charities in my funky santa hat!

Plus now I work with kids, helping put on the nativity play is very festive! :goodvibes

Truth be told I have been a major Scrooge when it comes to Xmas over the past 15 years or so, even with the tree filled with Disney Ornaments over the past 8 years nothing has gotten me "in the spirit" so to say. This was much to my DW's dismay as she LOVES Christmas.

That was until this year..I listened to the album "Winter Songs" by Halford about a week ago and something clicked in me and all of my happy childhood memories of Christmas came flooding back to me and now I am counting down the days until the day after Thanksgiving so the DW and I can decorate for the Holidays. She is wicked happy and now that the "Bah Humbug" boulder has been lifted from my shoulders so am I. All thanks to the Metal God releasing a Christmas Album :worship:
