I'm first generation American on my mum's family.
I'm...something like sixth generation American on my dad's side. His family dates back to the late 1800s/early 1900s at Ellis Island.

I'm third generation on my mom's side.
I'm second generation on my dad's side.

My mom's grandpa came from Russia, and My mom's grandma came from Poland I think.
My dad's mom came from Poland.

Wait, do both parent's/grandparents need to come from a different country?
If so, I don't know what generation I am on my dad's side but I'm pretty sure I'm third or fourth on my mom's.

I'm like bazillionth generation Canadian.

my family came to Canada in like the 1780s!! we were some of the originals!! lol

There's actually a place in Quebec named after my family :goodvibes

We were from Scotland waaaay way back in the day.

I'm first generation Canadian on both sides of my family - My entire family background comes from England

I know my mom's great grandparents (I think) came from Germany. Idk how many generations that is.

I have no clue about my dad's side of the family.

Second generation on both sides.
for wales that is
=]

first generation here in the u.s
but like too many generations to count in mexico, from dad's side.
& lots more generations in spain, mom's side.

Im 2nd generation American on my Mom's side and 4th on my Dad's side.

I'm the third generation on my mom's side, her grandma and grandpa came from poland, and her dad was born here in America.

Then I'm not sure about my dad's side because my family goes way back. All I know is that on his side my family comes from England and Ireland. Actually there happens to be an arena in England called the Hallam FM Arena, and there is the Hallam University too. Anyone know about these places?

My gramps was an immigrant from England

Thats all I remember.

Otherwise its too far back
My mom would know, she practically lives for genealogy.
We once took a big road-trip just so she could see my great great great great great great gramps grave that you cant even read his name off of.

Yeah.
xD

Sooooo far back I can't count. Lets just say I had family who travelled on the mayflower and settled here in like the 1600's...lol

Hmmm.

I asked my mom, she said my great-grandparents were the first to come over.
So that would make me..
3rd generation on both sides.
Mainly from Ireland.

i believe 4th generation on dads side, 5th on moms...

im not quite positive, but i think i did my math right

I'm third on both sides.
I used to get annoyed in Social Studies because my teacher would be like 'Your families are the people who created Canada, they were of the first people to live here.'
But in my case, my great grandparents moved here in the 1900's. Totally not even close to the first people to live here.

My mothers side is Scottish and my fathers side is English.
