What foods in Disneyland and California Adventure Park do YOU avoid;did it make u ill

If I avoid any food, it's not because it makes me sick. It's because of the pricetag. $4.50 for a slice of pizza?! I could get a slice three times as big at Costco for a fraction of the price! $5.45 for two scoops of ice cream w/ whip cream, cherry, hot fudge, and waffle cone?! I could make ten of those myself for probably less than $10.00.

I stay away from the white asparagus..twice I had it..once at BB once at Steakhouse 55 and something about just doesn't like me at all..big asparagus fan of the normal kind, but the white ones? nah....

Thanks for all the responses, everyone!! This is great! I loved the info. about the pink turkey legs, thanks for shedding light on that for me! As for the ones who fell ill before, ugh, sorry to hear that.

Keep the interesting responses coming, it's great to see the feedback.

We had both types of Monte Criso sandwiches at CO. Did not like either. Someone here suggested the BB ones. Had one a couple of weeks ago and couldn't finish one slice...far too greasy and heavy.

Also the tigger tails at Bengal bbq are terrible. My girls used them to soak up the remaining sauce from their skewers and commented that they could have used the cardboard of the container the bread was so bland.

If it were still there, we would avoid the pizza at pizza oom mow mow. It was not good. But it's gone.

The only other thing I avoid are the mint juleps. They taste like scope. Dh LOVES them though.

Ok, to start with I second the person who mentioned avoiding French Market.

I will not eat any pizza, anywhere on property.

I generally avoid anything that ever swam or breathed through gills, although I might make an exception if the Dobies ever venture into Napa Rose.

The coffee in the parks is revolting, disgusting, vile, and bad. As a card carrying Washingtonian, I know of what I speak!!! One can, however, get a borderline decent cup of espresso from the bar at the GCH in the morning.

Any of the desserts served at any of the buffet dinners (Story Tellers, Goofy's Kitchen) are tasteless.

As a matter of principle, I do not eat anything served out of a bread bowl. This dovetails nicely with avoidance of swimming things and French Market.

The Mexican place in DCA--La Cockaroacha--is the worst Mexican I have ever eaten.

Generally speaking, I won't eat anything with a creme, white, or cheese sauce that I did not make myself. This goes triple on vacation.

Oh, and finally, as much as I LOVE the Burgers at Taste Pilot, I have seen so much dubious behavior from unsupervised children at the condiments bar that I am beginning to rethink my patronage of that otherwise fine establishment.

I know I will be flamed for this but last time we ate at Plaza Inn, I got the fried chicken. It wasn't cooked enough, still very pink and red breast. When the guy came over to see if everything was alright I told him the chicken wasn't cooked. He said he was sorry and asked if I wanted a box to take it. I was hoping he's refund my money. So I've been afraid to go back. I will probably try it again, but not be the first people in line when it opens. Also does any place make fresh not frozen burgers?

Actually, over in Critter Country there is this one place that serve sandwiches... I ordered a turkey sandwich and didn't realise that they only served it with Rye bread, and I about puked when I tasted it. The whole thing would have been fine had it not been for that disgusting bread. I ended up feeding the whole thing to the ducks from Rivers of America.

In 2005 my family ate at Rancho del Zocolo.....it was by far the worse meal we had all trip. The tacos were dripping with grease & fell apart because of it. The beans seemed like they had been watered down....absolutely no flavor & the consistency of a melting milkshake. The rice was dry & flavorless. We are huge fans of Mexican food & was disappointed that we had lost this as an option to fulfill that need. We haven't been back.

Now I know this is a fav of many, MANY Diser's, so I am going back to DL in less than 3 weeks & am giving this place another shot. Everyone raves about it, so I'm hoping for good results!!

Just wanted to pop in to say that I ate at Rancho 2 weeks ago and met the head chef. There was an older CM working at the door and when I told him I knew how it "worked" because I eat there every trip, he went and got the head chef to come out and meet me. I thought the food had improved a lot.. my son and I split the chicken tacos. I eat there every trip, but it seemed really good this time. I hope you have a better experiencet this time. Beth

We had Rancho back then too and thought it was disgusting. We gave it another shot in 2009 and loved it! I always get the carne asada w/cheese enchiladas platter.:)

Thank you both......I keep hearing great things.....so figured we either hit on a very bad day or things had been greatly improved. I'm looking forward to trying it again!!

I felt a little queasy at having wasted the money on the Dole whip everyone raved about...

I avoid most of the food, but not because of a bad experience or the price, etc. Just a very sensitive stomach and lots of things I can't eat. I'm very hesitant to try anythign while we're away from home...as good as all of it looks. i have to stick to really basic things...soft pretzels, popcorn, bread, etc...though I was able to tolerate (and really enjoy) a few actual meals this past visit, like a bread bowl from La Brea and a turkey sandwich from Riverbelle! Anyways...

Of the things I have eaten, the only thing I would never get again is...the beignets. :rolleyes1 I don't know if we got a bad batch or just didn't know what to expect but neither of us liked them at all. They were heavy, greasy, and made me sick. Just awful all around.

Dh would say the sausage at the Plaza, he wouldn't even eat it. It looked weird, smelled off, and was nearly rock hard.

The Blue Bayou- Over priced. VERY over salty short ribs. Over cooked Seafood. Poor service. Won't be back.

The fritters- crispy coated raw dough balls.

The popcorn- Reg and Caramel. Too greasy, too salty, and for me the kernals were too small.

Bengal BBQ...My sister in Law is from Thailand and makes wonderful meat skewers. No need to order anywhere else. Especially when overpriced.

The Garlic Pomme Frittes at CNO...Not as good as Gordon Biersche's.

What I still get again but left me queasy the first time I ate a whole one...just too rich....The Three Cheese Monte Cristo....God are they good! But I share now.

One word..... chimichanga.

It was the worst case of food poisoning I've ever had.

I became very ill after eating dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. I think it was the fish. So glad it was our last night, but I was sick the whole drive home.

YUCK!! Sorry to hear about that! Rice can be so bad, if not left hot enough that makes me think that's what the component there was. Blech. I think I will make chimichangas at home now, just to try.
