What food items do you bring that are non-crushable?

Any ideas for breakfast and snack items that we can pack in our suitcases that are pretty sturdy?? We will have a fridge and microwave so are trying to come up with some lunch ideas too since we will not be in the parks every day. TIA

Granola bars, nuts, dried fruit, trail mix. This stuff is pretty sturdy and makes a good snack. If you have room (and don't have to worry about a suitcase weight limit), small cans of juice are also nice.

Something I have done to prevent crushing snacks was to buy a rubber maid storage container. I woud buy one that was small enough to comfortably fit in my suitcase (without giving up too much clothing room :) ) and I would put the snacks in there. Then the snacks would not be crushed and after the snacks are eaten, it gives you a safe place to store your small souevneirs for the trip home.

I would do this for every suitcase you have, so that if the airline lose a suitcase, you will still have some of your snacks.

Hope this helps.

Well, in addition to that, I know that they have snack-size pringles and fritos in a non-crushable containers.

Have you thought about shipping a box down to the resort ahead of time?

we bring the packets of oatmeal. At many of the resorts there are microwaves. I also bring microwave pop corn, twizzlers, fruit snacks, granola bars and crystal light packets. If i bring crushable items i usually pack them in another box with newpaper and then put it in my suitcase.

I second the gummies and fruit roll ups!!!! My boys love them and they pack so well! I also like to bring cereal bars for breakfast, I like the high protein ones because you can never have enough energy in Disneyworld!;)

If you are someone you know has a baby the plastic baby wipe containers worked well for our flight not to crush the crushable stuff ( little debbie cakes, goldfish crackers)

Breakfast bars are great to pack. We also take trail mix. Walmart sells a 5 lbs bag and I just take a few small zip lock bags to put the trail mix in to take with us to the parks.

Another idea I have done is to wrap a few crushable items in bubble wrap and secure it with a big rubber band. Then when you come home you have eat'n the crushable food so use the bubble wrap to wrap up any souvenirs that are breakable!

I always pack bubble wrap in my bag.. you never know what you might buy that will need a little extra padding for the trip home.

I have actually packed the snacks in those packages they come in and they have done just fine! I always pack the teddy grahams, 100 calorie pack snacks and granola bars a must! our new favorites are CLIF bars. You can buy them in bulk at Walmart/Target and Whole Foods and we eat them a lot in the parks! They may be a bit pricey for a snack bar, but much cheaper than buying a snack at the parks!

Sometimes I have also taken the snacks out and just packed them in between clothes. they've done really well!

I have also had a package sent down before hand and it worked well. My DH had a case of water from costco.com shipped there a few days before our arrival and it was at the front desk waiting for me!

Cup of soup and microwavable items work well. Peanut butter and jelly and bread can be purchased at the hotel. Also the tuna/cracker kits.
