What food item(s) that are being served for Thanksgiving tomorrow will your kids..

She will eat any and all other meats- but not turkey. Weird, I know, believe me!! Somehow, in second grade, she heard that turkeys are so dumb, they will drown themselves in the rain. She felt bad for them, thus starting the whole "save the turkeys" mind-set. It's really silly, but she is committed- she hasn't eaten anything with turkey in it for 4 years.

That's too funny.. One day my DGD said to me, "Grandma, do you know where bacon comes from?" And of course - I played along and said, "No.. Where?" Her reply?

"A pigs BUTT and I'm never eating it again!!!!!
:rotfl::rotfl:

DD, DS #1, and I ate everything.

DS #2 only ate turkey, corn, rolls, and mashed potatoes. No stuffing, green beans, or sweet potatoes.

DH is like DS #2, but he ate the sweet potatoes.

We all ate pumpkin pie.

If any of my kids had a moral objection to me cooking a turkey, I would do it anyway and teach them about tolerance for people who have beliefs different from their own. Many of my family members are vegetarians, but they all respect the fact that the rest of us aren't and never say a word when we serve meat.

i don't like:

stuffing/dressing
deviled eggs (or eggs at all, like the brown gravy with the eggs in it. yuck.)
cold slaw (or is it spelled cole slaw?)

i love:
green beans
mac and cheese
peas
mashed potatoes
broccoli(with or without cheese)
turkey
cranberry sauce
corn
sweet potatoes
pumpkin pie (and all the deserts.)

i love thanksgiving!

Not eat because they don't like it?

If I was cooking tomorrow it would be:

Adult DD: no broccoli or cauliflower with cheese sauce; no cottage cheese; no gravy

Dson-in-law: anything that resembles a vegetable; no pumpkin pie

DGD (11): She would eat everything - has never been a picky eater (EXCEPT for pizza and spaghetti sauce - which I wouldn't be serving anyhow)..:)

My son eats everything we make with our turkey dinners. The only time he does not eat anything is when I cook stove top stuffing because he can not have dairy and it has dairy in it. Other wise he eats the stuffing.

I'm sure I drove my mother insane because I hated turkey when I was younger. But she was never able to cook it right so it was dry. I'm still not a fan of it. But I do love my mom's sage dressing. Mmmm...

This year we did the smallest turkey we could find with the sage dressing and mashed potatoes. With beef gravy from the store. I hate homemade turkey gravy. The dbf will eat anything that's not stapled down and the cats also get a turkey feast of their own.

My DD8, oops, no she is now DD9..had a bday on the 17th...doesn't like green bean cass. or sweet potaotes.

DS2...I knew he wouldnt eat much of anything so I brought along a veggie and dip tray and he ate that. (and he ate it, and he ate it) He did eat some mashed potatoes but that is it. He loves his veggies and fruits and turns down dessert in favor of them.

No kids of my own for a few more months, but I'm a kid and I'm kind of picky. :) Not as bad as I used to be though. I ate the turkey (white meat only), a little gravy, mashed potatoes, a roll, veggies from the relish tray, a deviled egg, and sweet potato/apple casserole. I skipped the broccoli/cauliflower (I normally like these, but I'm 3 months pregnant and the thought of - pardon my rudeness - burping after eating these was not appealing to me), stuffing because I only like it really plain and without onions/celery, and my poor great-grandmother's jello casserole because her eyesight is really going and I worry about what's going in there. When we had leftovers we added green beans which I also love - just plain, not casseroled.
