What Food Do You Love That Others Think Is Nasty?

Umm... I love seafood - mussels, cockles, winkles, anything you find on the shore really :) A lot of people I know hate that stuff.

I also love liver, which a lot of people hate, as well as escargot (which my bf hates) and pork rinds/scratchings. I also ate lamb's fry when I was younger but haven't had it in years.

What are winkles?popcorn::

I love cream chipped beef (aka s*** on a shingle)

cream cheese & olive sandwiches :cloud9:

Mmmm. this is making me drool! Somewhere around here I have a recipe for watercress swirls: it's cream cheese, olives, watercress, salt and pepper and chives. Soooooo good. Now I'm going to be craving cream cheese and olives. I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow....I know what I'm having for lunch!!:thumbsup2

My first thought as an answer to this thread was sauerkraut (YUM!) - any good Wisconsinite will tell you sauerkraut is a must do on brats. Well...actually onions are a must do, but sauerkraut is pretty darn good too.

I also love love love garlic stuffed green olives mixed in cottage cheese and black pepper. I see absolutely nothing weird about this at all, but I get the weirdest reactions from people when I eat this. And truly - any kind of olive will do, I just love garlic stuffed.

This one isn't nasty, but odd: I love to submerge my Peanut M&M's in super hot water and pull them out as soon as the color is washed off. They are all melty and yummy and perfect. DH thinks I'm nuts and they are disgusting (thanks to the nasty colored water I drain off them) but they are AWESOME!!

Guacamole! Yeah, it's green and mushy, get over it. :)

I brought in WONDErFUL guacamole and chips to a potluck at work one day and people hardly touched it. Of course, these were the same folks who would not eat the Krispy Kreme donuts I brought in OR the ice cream floats I brought in the fixings for (they were way too health conscious!).

Okay, another confession...I eat A1 sauce by itself. I can sit and watch television with the bottle and a spoon. :lovestruc

Almost everything on here I've tried or be willing to try. I love to eat pickles and mashed potatoes. I also like to take the juice from a can of stewed tomatoes and mix it in wth my mashed potatoes. DH thinks I'm so gross but it's so delicious.

Thought of a few more things ---fried chicken livers and gizzards (must have tabasco sauce on them too). Oh and when we were little my mother used to make a big pot of beans, fried potatoes, and corn bread. We would always just use a bowl and mix the beans, taters, corn bread with some mayo and onions---super yummy!! My brother and I wanted cake one time and decided to "make" our own by drizzling chocolate syrup on bread!!

Wendy's French Fries dipped in their Chocolate Frosty. :)

Also... Taco Bell Cinnamon Twists dipped in Nacho Cheese. Mmmmmm :goodvibes

Brussel Sprouts
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Spinach
Escargot

Lots of things already mentioned that I love-

Peanut butter on toast with bacon
blood pudding- I call it black pudding
Escargot
fried chicken gizzards and hearts
Braunschweiger

After reading this thread I want to try some of the ones mentioned.

That is actually the ONLY way to eat fries in Belgium: with mayo!

And there is NOTHING better than friet with a huge dollop of mayo. The paper cones filled with friet with mayo on top - the best. And now my McDonald's fries are looking rather disgusting.

I love guacamole! Those health nuts you work with should know that avocados are a good fat!:)

It's not really weird but some people think it is. I love nacho cheese doritos dipped in green taco sauce. Not salsa, but taco sauce.

Mmmmm, craving some now.
