The lobby overlooks Arusha Rock and savanna. This is the view if you stand at Arusha Rock and look back. The round towers on either side of the lobby are the Royal Assante Suite (Presidential) on the right, and the Royal Kuba (Vice-presidential) on the left. The round towers are the living rooms of the suites. Below the suites are lookout areas where guests can relax in rocking chairs and enjoy the view.
Floridafam, are you going to stay in one of those suites? If you are, I can't wait to hear all about it upon your return home. I don't know if anyone here on the Dis has stayed in those suites before, as I don't remember reading anyone's reviews. From the photos I have seen that are posted on the OurLaughingPlace website, the suites look lovely.
We stayed a few doors down from the VP suite last June. One day I was passing by and housekeeping had the door propped open and was coming out. She said they were preparing for some type of party there. I asked if I could possilby have a peek and she said sure, go ahead. The place was absolutely gorgous. I just kinda wondered around room to room on my own in awe of the place. It wasn't until I left that I realilzed my camera was hanging by the strap on my arm, lol. If there was ever a time we could afford to stay there I would definately do it!!!
***********, I think I remember seeing those photos on the OurLaughingPlace website way back when (2001). I also remember reading that the person who took those photos had stayed there with friends. After all these years, I find out that it was you who had stayed there! What a small world!
