What films put a lump in your throat?

8 Seconds. After seeing it so many times now its as much because it makes dh cry as the sadness of the movie. Especially that last 8 seconds.

Another is Father of the Bride. There is a moment when he is remembering his dd as a little girl that she looks like dd as a child and that moment gets me every time now.

Oy Vey, lol we could be here all day. I cry at the budweiser dog/horse commercials.

Anyhoo,
recent movies;
the Help, when Aibileen goes to church and the entire community is there to applaud her.
Steel magnolias. just hearing the sound track brings tears to my eyes
Bridges of Madison county. at the end when clint eastwood is standing in the street in the pouring rain hoping Meryl streep gets out the car.

I totally forgot to also mention Wuthering Heights with Ralph Fiennes and Juliet Binoche. The music is haunting and there are so many great moments but The scene where Heathcliff breaks into the room where Cathy is laying in the coffin kills me everytime!

Raising Arizona is one of my all-time favorite comedies, but the end always puts a lump in my throat.

So many already listed but I will add Homeward Bound. The scene at the end when the old Golden Retriever limps towards his boy and his voice says "Oh Peter! I have been so worried about you!". Melt down.

When The Color Purple comes on I will call out to DH to change his channel. Silence followed by "You suck!" , lol! He boo hoos at that scene every time.

:sad:Ugh. I would have to agree with all of these mentioned. I read Marley and Me right after we put our beloved golden retriever down. My mom thought I was crazy, but I said "I'm crying anyway, I might as well read it now." Then we saw it at the movies and my poor husband and son. They had no idea what was coming!

I haven't seen Castaway mentioned yet. "WILSON! I'm sorry Wilson!"

The last part of "alien" when ripley opens the shuttle door and the poor alien is shot into space, then she fries it with the engine when it tries to survive.
