Hi all. In this whole quest to fitness-- what does your exercise plan look like?? What do you like to do??? What has worked for you?? For how long, how many days a week??? :thumbsup2

I do the Leslee Sansone "Walk Away the Pounds" DVD .....3 mile walk.I take one day off a week, usually Sat. or Sun. Several times a week I also do stomach crunches, lunges, etc. (basic spot toning exercises) I have lost 4 1/2 inches in my waist over the last 5 weeks with this workout. And...I am only 5lbs. away from my lowest weight in 20 years.:thumbsup2

I belong to a pretty nice gym and that helps keep things interesting. My routine has been:

Monday - Power walk at lunch
Tuesday - Cycling class
Wed - Pilates class
Thurs - 1 hour circuit of row/bike/eliptical/weights/abs
Sat - Step class (this is my favorite)

Have been pretty faithful to this and lost 18 pounds since Feb. I have the attention span of a 6 year old during math class. So my workout plan needs a LOT of variety!

Good luck to you!

I usually bike about 8 miles, 5 days a week and walk a couple of miles in the evenings. Yesterday I started the "Couch to 5K" program which is interval training to become a runner and I'll be doing that 3 days a week. :thumbsup2

I recently just changed up my routines....

-- run 4x/week for an average of 20 miles/week
-- play tennis 2x/week (90 minutes each time)
-- belong to a gym, so I do 3 one-hour classes (VERY advanced and intense)
-- bike 2x/week for an average of 35 miles/week

So, that is 11 work-outs/week and I take one day completely off each week, so several days I do two things in one day. For example, I will run in the morning and play tennis in the evening. On my biking days, I usually go right from the bike to the workout class.

I started out going to Curves 3-4 days a week, however, after a while it all got too routine. I now go to the gym 3 days a week and devote a minimum of 30 minutes to cardio, either on the exercise bike, the treadmill or the elliptical. I also add exercise, such as walking or swimming as time permits.

Until recently, my exercise routine was limited to walking every morning about 30 minutes, at least 5 days per week, but usually 6.

Now I'm trying to get in some more exercise - walking a bit longer (45 minutes minimum); an additional walk in the evening about 30 minutes, a five to 10 minute workout here and there (my weights sit next to my desk). I've taking up kayaking on the weekends too. I'm trying to figure out where I can squeeze bicycling into my week too - haven't done it in years and I miss it! The walking was started to get pretty boring, so I'm trying to find ways to mix it up a bit.

I need variety to keep me interested and coming back to the gym. I just started my fitness routine the last week of February and at last check (beginning of the month) I have lost 16 inches off my body...7 inches off my waist alone and 10 lbs.

I'd like the weight loss to be higher, but I'm pretty sure this has more to do with my eating rather than my exercise. Here's my program.

Workout at least 5 days a week at local gym
Monday - 1 hour low impact aerobic class and 30 minutes of weight training
Tuesday - 1 hour Deep water pool class
Wednesday - 1 hour weight lifting group fitness class
Thursday - 1 hour Deep water pool class
Friday - 1 Hour Hip-Hop/Dance Aerobic Class and 30 minutes of weight training

Sat - sometimes if possible I take 2 back to back aerobics classes

I will say for me, another big motivator for me has been making new friends at my gym to work out with. It's been great to share weight loss/exercise issues and we make plans to work out together. :goodvibes

My basic rountine...

walk at least 5 miles 6 days a week.

Pilates mat class at least once a week (ideally Monday and Wednesday before work)
Body-pump class (weight lifting) Tuesday before work

Running (45 minutes currently averaging 12-13 miles per hour aiming for 9 mph by the end of summer) 3 times a week

When i want to mix it up a bit, I jump rope or swim. I will be doing a lot more swimming now that the pool opens this weekend and I can walk there. And when i want a little group fitness, I pop in Wii sports. That'll get your heart pumping!

I do the leslie sansone walk away the pounds dvd's 5-6 mornings/ week. I have 2,3, and 4 mile workouts, and like to mix it up. I like it because I get up before my son and can do it first thing in the morning.

I like to walk and bike too, but that is so weather dependant, I like to do some exercise first thing to start the day off on the right foot.
