What exactly is "Connections"

Sorry for the repeat ? But it has been a couple of years since I planned a trip to WDW and have just started the research/planning for our trip at the end of September. I have come back to the old reliable message boards of DIS and have noticed people talking about "Connections" can you fill me in on this feature?

For more info, check out mousesavers.com, under disney, then meals. It is the cheapest way we found to order tickets, and we bought a few of their meal vouchers also. We've had no problems so far!
