What exactly are the famed zebra domes????

I think they are little bits of sponge covered with a very thin layer of brown candle wax. I love EVERYTHING at Boma except Zebra Domes. :sad2:

How many zebra domes come in the small pack?

And since they a dessert item, I assume you can get them as dessert with DDP rather than using a snack credit?

I found reference elsewhere to a 5-pack of zebra domes. Is that the "small" pack being discussed here? And can you get it for dessert w/DDP or only if you use a snack credit? Thanks.

I agree - I thought I was the only one who didn't love them.:confused3 I love chocolate, love coffee and didn't love the infamous Zebra Domes. They were warm, smooshy things that tasted like cheap white chocolate. I thought maybe I had a bad batch of them the night we dined at BOMA - but we were staying at AKL - so I used a snack credit to give them another try ( I believe there were 4 in the package) - nope. Still didn't love them. They were colder (out of the fridge section of the Mara) but they still didn't taste good to me!

Yes but do they have the Zebra Domes at Breakfast?

They do not have them for breakfast. But you can get them at the grab and go at the Mara counter service.

I remember hearing that they used to use Kahlua in the zebra domes but no longer do. I don't know if that means they stopped using anything alcoholic or if it means that they switched to some other type of coffee liqueur. I do not like them, too much coffee for me.

I agree. The first time I tried them at BOMA I thought this must not be them based upon the taste and texture, so I confirmed with CMs. I then quickly realized it was another Disney hype item and saw many on other tables also being discarded too.

I ordered a speciality cake for Sanaa and was able to get one that is a Cake-sized zebra dome! Can't wait!

How did you go about ordering this? We are staying at AKL and would love to order this as a surprise for DD14 who will be celebrating her graduation. She loves Zebra domes and this would be amazing.

Agree...we were seriously underwhelmed by zebra domes. Super Yuck texture, for sure (that description of wax was right on.) And the kahlua-booze flavor was very strong. When we ate at the Boma dinner buffet, they had zebra domes with, and without the kahlua...I saw a lot of kids taking heaping plates of the kahlua version...don't know if they changed the official Disney recipe, but the old recipe actually had 1/4 oz. of kahlua per zebra dome...so a kid eating 4 of those things would be getting an ounce of booze in their dessert. And no, the recipe does not "cook out" the kahlua.

First time I had them they were on a platter with berries and chocolate that Boma made us for our honeymoon and they were very dry.. I finally tried them again last yr, we went to AKL and had lunch at Mara and I was able to get them out the cooler there was a package of like 4 or 5 as a dessert option on my CS meal. These were better.. Maybe fresher?

I'm going against the norm...I didn't like them at all. Neither did my dad.
