My family and I are going to be going to disneyland for the first time on 3/22-3/29. We are not planning on renting a car (going to hire a town car to take us to and from LAX) My question is can we actually spend an entire week at Disney or should we plan on doing some other things? How far away is Six flags, Universal or knotts berry farms? Is it possible to catch a shuttle to these places?

Hi

My husband and I may be visiting DL for the first time in November, and in addition to visiting DL and California
adventure, we are also visiting, Universal studios and the San
Diego Zoo via Greyline Tours. We are booking our package throughDisneyland vacations, and they offer optional tickets for other parks and the zoo.

Think about renting a car for a couple of days. The orange county area is so beautiful. Go to Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Huntington and even take a ride up to LA which is only 45 minutes away.

I could easily spend a week at DL/DCA. If you tour at a slow pace and take in all the sights. There are lots of rides that we like to ride over and over again. We nap in the afternoon or swim, then go back for a few hours in evening. Some of the parades are worth seeing a few times. There are lots of shows, character meets, princess story times, shops......Disney fun. My girls could spend an entire day meeting the characters.

If you are able to go to the character meals, Goofy's Kitchen is very nice. They serve a breakfast/brunch buffet until 1:00 then Dinner after that. There are a few other breakfast buffet's/character meals also.

Disnee Dad Says..............................Personally, I would rent a car. It will be cheaper in the long run. US is maybe 30/40 minutes north of DL, but if you go at rush hour it will take about 4 days!
KNott's is more like 15 minutes away.
I would plan three days for DL/DCA
I would plan one exausting day at US
I would plan one not quite an entire rushed day at Knott's
I would plan two days in San Diego, with a one night stay. It's 90 miles from Anaheim and can take anywhere from 90 minutes to a week to get there! Do the Wildlife Park, thats another 30/40 miles of driving as it's in the middle of nowhere, but it's fantastic. This is the part where you regain your strength! After Wildlife Park, try Balboa Park and Old Town. Next morning, you lounge by the pool or check out the Pacific Ocean, or head back to LA, and go to Long Beach for the Queen Mary, or to Santa Monica to see the crazy beach area, or back to the hotel to soak.
