What effect of So Cal passports on crowds? Just before summer blackouts.

We're trying to squeeze in a summer trip, and I'm trying to figure out dates. If I'm reading it correctly, it looks like the SoCal pass that is still available for new purchase is blacked out after June 9, but the legacy one is still available on weekdays until the end of June (with the exception of June 22-25 - what is going on then? The Del Sol is totally booked then). Are there enough people with the legacy SoCal pass that we should avoid their last few available dates for the summer?

Crowd wise, would we be better off going that last week of June, or mid/late July? Will July 17 be especially busy? I know it will all be crowded, but I want to be there on 8's instead of 10's, if possible.

There's an uptick in crowds before any blockout period. The thing is, the blockouts are when they are because it will be crowded anyway. Some years July 17 is busier than others. I think this year will probably be busier than the rest of the week. People just had a reminder last year and it's the anniversary date and Disney did a lot of special things, so they may be planning to go expecting something to happen this year too.
