You are right! That was a non DVC perkWhen did we get daily housekeeping? When we bought in 1997 DVC was already on the Day 4 - Day 8 Trash and Towel vs. Full Cleaning schedule. I didn’t know we missed daily housekeeping.
And unfortunately for us, the free park tickets ended before we bought too.
We did get free Orlando Sentinel newspapers, daily and Sunday, for a few years after we bought.
I heard them mention this on DVC Fan today. Sounds like Id love it but dont know what it is.Tables in Wonderland
Not sure I would classify that as a DVC perk.Tables in Wonderland

Definitely not a perk that DVC discontinued.

And what made it extra valuable, imo, was the 20% discount included alcohol. Even if you just went to the bar and drank, you got the 20% off.I heard them mention this on DVC Fan today. Sounds like Id love it but dont know what it is.
These things are all cyclical. I love it when people compare today to 1992 or 2009…. You know what those years have in common… We were in a recession and people weren’t spending money to go to theme parks. So, yes…. There were more discounts and incentives then…. just like there will be again someday in the future…..It was an add on membership that gave you 20% off at many WDW restaurants along with valet parking (when dining at a restaurant). Only FL residents, APs and DVC members could purchase it.
Yep! I'm assuming you just quoted mine as an example, because I was in no way whining about it being unfair. Things ebb and flow as does the economy, external factors, and Disney's overall business results. I think people (not you) sometimes forget Disney is a for profit company. These things are all cyclical. I love it when people compare today to 1992 or 2009…. Unemployment in 1992- 8%
Unemployment in 2009- 10%
Unemployment in 2024- 4%
I believe your comment was just the last one I read before typing. There are so many comments that happen all over about "well compared to when I got this perk at this time" and it just makes me chuckle.Yep!
