What does your tween daughter (ages 10-12) want for Christmas?

I have been following this thread, but haven't joined in yet .... thought that I would, so I could bump this post up a bit.

My daughter turns 11 (Dec 11th) exactly two weeks before Christmas. She is mainly into computer & video games, but she still had several toys on her wish list as well (which surprised me since she seems to be outgrowing most toys). I am glad though .... they grow up soo fast ..... I will encourage her to "play" for as long as possible.

This is her "wish list" for her birthday & Christmas:
Sims 2 Double Deluxe PC Game (already got - birthday - $10 new on ebay)
Sims 2 Teen Style Stuff PC Game (already got - birthday - $6 new on ebay)
Sims 2 Mansion & Garden Stuff PC Game (still trying to find this - possibly birthday)
Annie DVD (already got - $3.99 at Toys R Us on Black Friday!)
Maybe A Few Barbies (probably not - she never plays with these anymore - notice she even put "maybe")
3 Wii Games - Animals, Ringling Bros, Baby Steps (will probably get all of these)
Nursery Care Center (already got)
Water Baby Doll (already got)
2 Board Games - Wack-A-Mole & Trouble (already got both of these)

Some Other Things That I Have Already Bought For Her That She Is Not Expecting:
Red iPod Nano 16gb engraved with her name
iPod Accessories (Red Headphones, Red Case, $30 ITunes Card, Taylor Swift CD)
Pink Lego Tub (her little brother is getting a lego table - so getting these just in case she wants to play with him)
Barbie Vet Puppy Dog In Carrier
Big Stuffed Teddy Bear (the $4.99 one from the Big Toy Book at TRU)
Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Pillow (she saw this at Party City and loved it)
Elephant Necklace From JC Penneys
Virtual Villagers PC Games 1 & 2
Pink DSi (for birthday - she lost her DS Lite awhile back at a church outing)
DSi Case & Accessory Kit (for birthday)
Harvest Moon DS Game (for birthday)
$25 Target Gift Card
Plastic Canvas Sewing Kit

As you can see she is almost done (may still get a couple more DS games & a few books) - as is my DS5 - still need to get more for my DD17 (she is the hard one to buy for!)

They are those japanese-style graphic novels/ comic books series. The ones you read from back to front, right to left and the characters have huge eyes. The library had some titles and she is hooked on on the ones with girl main characters. I think the first one she got hooked on is Fruits Basket. Usually the bookstores (like borders) will have a manga section.
She's always been a bookworm (like me) and this is her current reading obsession.

I have never heard of manga before, but both of my girls would probably love these books! I'm going to order them a few of the Fruits Basket ones.

Can anyone recommend any more manga books (specific titles) that are good for this age group?

:goodvibes

Question for everyone: What Wii games do you find that your girls enjoy? I just bought her wii this morning from Target and I bought the Carnival game from amazon.com. I think that with the wii sports is a good start.

My kids have lots of Wii games (since we have had our Wii for almost 2 yrs) .... the ones that my DD10 plays the most are Harvest Moon and the first My Sims one to come out. They are both cute games. She tends to like the ones that you can set up your house/farm, and build your own little town.

She volunteers for our vet.

That is awesome! :thumbsup2

Getting my DD10 to tell me her list is like pulling teeth!

Jewelry-she's started wearing necklaces and bracelets.
Clothes for her AG dolls-homemade by me.
Harry Potter Clue game-she still loves anything to do with HP

My daughter has her own style and wants to buy her own clothes.(She's 10) I am getting her a gift card for Old Navy. She's getting a Twilight throw, Wii Resort, a Sims game for the computer, and a Jonas Brothers tote bag. She is also getting socks and underware(that's what we used to get for Christmas lol)

Oh I like the token idea...good for a unique stocking stuffer! My dd got a new bat and sliding shorts, etc..at the end of the season (on clearance) but there is an indoor clinic coming up in January and the batting cages (we have indoor ones nearby) would help get her back into the softball mode!! Great idea..thanks!:thumbsup2

I would love to start my DN 11 on these books. Can anyone recommend where to start? Someone mentioned there is a girl heroine in one? I went to the website and it is overwhelming.
Thanks
Suzanne

My DD's favorite is the Mermaid Melody series. She also loves the Tokyo Mew Mew series - I got her the Tokyo Mew Mew anime DVD for her birthday last year and she watches it endlessly. She has been an anime fan since she was about 4, when she fell in love with the Hayao Miyazaki movies, which she still watches often. She loves to draw and is teaching herself manga. She asked for a bento box for Christmas too. I think she's turning Japanese! :lmao:

/
video camera
ds games
friendship bracelet kit
some board games
sharing a razor scooter thing with her brother
sharing a zoo playmobil set with ds
clothes
boots
webkinz
playmobil advent calendar(her birthday)
digital pic frame/alarm clock combo
more, probably just can't remember,lol

She will be 11

Wow, I to am shocked at how many 10-12 year olds have ipod touchs and cell phones. My daughter and son both wanted the ipods for their birthdayys (10/12th) but they just got nanos as i dont like that they have access to the internet on them and even without my wireless code they can access it thru our neighbors and the schools wifi that is not blocked and across the street from us. And nope no need for a cell phone until you are older so they dont ask for them either.

My 10 year old has asked for a couple movies, some clothes, a few polly pocket items, books and giftcards..............we do buy them experience gift cards for fun family places like go karting, rock wall climbing, a trip out of town to see a site etc.............more about making memories then stuff i guess............

DD11 list...
Uggs (wore last pair for 3 years, definitely need replacing)
Ugg sneakers (found a great sale)
Kindle

clothes
trip to NYC to see the Rockettes

My dd 9 (10 on12/8) has a huge expensive list and she gave up toys when she was 7! We gladly picked up most of her wants with the exception of a cell phone! Everything I'm listing is from mom and dad, santa, and stocking stuffers.
Shes getting:
DSi XL
Laptop
butterfly chair
fuggs from Justice
two no name purses
couple of fancy scarfs
lava lamp
Pj, funky socks, and fingerless gloves
blue jean jacket lined with fur
tinkerbell watch
3 ds games
zebra stripe blanket
Lego bucket
squinkes (she didn't ask for these but hey they look cute)
pillowpet
monopoly
Mario brother wii game
selena gomez cd
silly bands
lip gloss
bottlecap necklace and bracelets from justice

My DD who is 12 asked for a pair of boots and a hair straightener. That was all - she never asks for much. My other DD who will be 16 Christmas Eve asked for an Ipod Touch for b-day and Christmas. My parents bought her the Ipod Touch and also purchased one for DD12 as we didn't want fighting over it. Their Nano's that they have had for a few years have started to have problems also. We will get covers, etc for stocking stuffers. We did get a pair of Uggs cheap for each of them and a cheap hair straightener - they don't have hair that really needs it but they wanted it incase they wake up with bumps and want to get them out, etc. so I found cheap ones at Christmas Tree Shop and had a 20% off coupon so it was a good deal for $14.99 each - bought them each one so again no fighting in the mornings. This is basically all they are getting between us and my parents. I will purchase stocking stuffers - like I have a game I purchased awhile ago for $3.00 on sale in Target that they both love. So they are basically getting the same stuff but that is how it fell this year and are done pretty much. As they get older - it gets harder.

May I ask where you got the Uggs cheap? My DD 14 wants a pair.:goodvibes

DD10 is getting:

-2 Justice shirts
-Tokyo MewMew books (how many depends on how many I can find at Half Price Books before Christmas)
-iPod Touch
-Toy Story 3 on DVD
-cute little underwear sets
-lots of misc stocking stuffers (socks, nail polish, etc)

My 11 year old (turns 12 in Jan) has asked for-
Nintendo DSI XL (Mario edition)
Cat stroller (she never was into dolls, but would love to walk her cat around the neighborhood lol)
Bible
bean bag chair
cross necklace
type writer (no clue why, she has a laptop)
watch
Pokemon Wii game
This stuff will be divided up between us and the grandparents. We're also getting her an AmEx gift card, dvd's, cds, books and DSI accessories.

Aside from any popular electronics request that she wouldn't be getting and thus isn't asking for officially...

My 10yo has suddenly decided that Barbie is her thing to ask for this Christmas.

Daddy is the decision maker this Christmas. He complains he never gets to do anything.

But I do purpose that each Christmas my kids get a gift of their choosing--the tough part is convincing husband how to figure out what the would really like. But I told him he MUST have something from their list as that is part of the magic of Christmas (the magic of the gift receiving part anyway).

She is into astronomy, so he is on the search for a telescope.

My daughter wants a type writer also but has a laptop:confused3

My DD is 10 and here's what I have so far:

Beatles T-shirt ($7 in jr. section at Wal-Mart)
Project Runway projector
Toy Story 3D chalk and Tinkerbell 3D chalk (on sale for $4 each)
Beauty and the Beast ($17 + Tangled coupon)
books (DD always gets books just from me)
Pandora ring (DH always buys her jewelry that is just from him)
Squinkies (She hasn't asked for them and may not play with them, but after reading about them here, I bought them as soon as I saw them.)

Still to buy:
Pillow pet (She wants Zippity Zebra, but that's not happening! Probably the $20 penguin from Walgreens or BB&B)
Zebra snuggie
Bible
hot rollers
Harukima fashion kits (I really think she'll love these, so she'll probably get a few sets)
Camera

Actually on her list (which we will try to find & get):
Tinkerbelle & Friends fairy stuff (we will probably get a couple of things, but I don't want to go overboard. Walgreens had a Tinkerbelle statue to paint that I'll probably get for her.)

Barbie Fashion Fairytale DVD (We hate buying movies that we don't want to watch with her, so we'll see...)

hot pink & lime green watch (we're searching!)

Other than that, I'm sure we will pick up quite a few clothes/p.j's/socks during Black Friday & just while out shopping for the next month. She is growing so fast that she needs a lot of new clothes.

My dd is 10. This is what she is asking for. She will most likely get almost all, since this list is spread out over many family members (who buy too much).

*AG Emily (already wrapped)
*AG pajamas
*Disney pajamas
*Despicable Me DVD (when released)
*Despicable Me for DS
*Disney bobbleheads (I found a few on ebay)
*Just Dance 2 for Wii (definitely...she loves the first one)
*team warm up suit and backpack for her traveling jumprope team..off to the Jr. Olympics this year
*new comforter

What she didn't ask for and is getting is a laptop from her aunt. Her aunt just upgraded, and I'm certain the Macbook she's passing down is in fantastic condition. Dd will be thrilled!!!!

Now if only my ds13 was this easy.
