do when they hang out together? My daughter said there's nothing to do but watch TV together. I'm just curious!

Well, I'm 10 years older than your DD but when I was her age, bf's and I usually just hung out at the movies, playing pool, arcades, the beach or the mall. I don't think teens have changed too much in that regard.

:)

Chattanooga teens is band from the mall Friday and Saturday night unless they have in adult with them.

So the mall is totally. We have no arcades anymore. But we have the skating rink and police be there every Friday and Saturday night

Well, when I a little older than her (18) my boyfriend and I were doing things that my parents would NOT have liked. He was the same age.

Just be realistic...they may just be watching TV, but I would be surprised.

Hahahah... watching TV. When my ex used to come over, we'd always "watch a movie." :rolleyes1

Hmmm..what did YOU do when you were 17?? I know that it sends shivers down my spine thinking about my baby at 17 doing things I did!!

Dh and I are well, 10 years older...but I remember watching movies, playing video games, going to shows and muesams, we went to symphonies, and then I guess when we hit 18 we were doing a little more. For example; "watching movies" bacame more frequent. We still went out for dinner and hung out with our friends at party's and things. We always went to the school dances, plays, and we were both in the concerts and then went to dinner after. School functions really kept us busy too...and it was a good thing;)

We also went to the mountains and had picnics, went to the parks with our friends, and we went downtown often.

Drink illegally mostly but other things were going to movies, hanging out at the beach, skiing, going out to dinner, swimming parties, go to Chicago, Six Flags Great America, summer festivals and fairs, bowling, pool, video games, the mall, kissing and making out. Sex wasn't a focus for me, thank goodness for my parents.

My dd is 20

but she and bf play xbox, rollerblade, rent movies, walk dog, mini golf, do some baking, study together.

herc.

I'm 19 and when my boyfriend and I hang out we watch movies/television, go for walks, go to walmart (i go to school in a small town), shop, go to national parks, go out to dinner or we also enjoy cooking dinner together at home

We find things to keep us busy as both of us waiting around doiing nothing.

It is difficult sometimes especially since he is 25 and is used to going clubs and bars...places I am not allowed to go. It also depends where we are. If we're at my school then we tend to drive to Indy or Plainfield..When we're in Terre Haute there is a lot more to do.

I can tell you the things I see my dd (19 yrs.) old doing with her bf. They go bowling and play volleyball with friends. They have several friends over the house and play all sorts of games from scattagories to every card game known to man, they have friends over to watch movies, they sit around and talk, they go to starbucks or other coffee houses with friends and wax philosophical. Ashli has always been a very social type of person so most of her time is spent with friends. Only occassionally does she go out with just a date. Usually though when she's dating someone steady the fella will stay at the house after the friends leave and they'll spend time alone together then. Most of the time I feel pretty comfortable about where she's at and who she's with.

"watching movies"?? do you guys mean porn?

When I say watching movies...I mean spending hours in the movie place picking out a chick flick for me, a horror flick for him, and 1 or 2 movies we both want to see.

Thank you for clearing that out for me. The quotes- " " somehow kind of made me think if it meant something else. I'm glad I asked. :)

When I said "watching a movie" I meant it more as, we put the movie in, we started watching and then we saw more of each other then the movie! ;)

I love chick flicks, old Disney movies, and musicals..DH loves stupid comedy..i(e dumb and Dumber and Adam Sandler) action, and we both love comedy (ie EdTV, Rat race), and Drama (ie the fugative).

 :rotfl:

This thread has me cracking up!!
When I was 17 (only a short 7 years ago) I didn't have a 'boyfriend', but we really did just watch movies (not porn) or play games or play pool. Or we'd go to a diner or somewhere similar. In the daytime (if it was summer/no school) we'd go swimming or just to a field and hangout or play kickball or wiffle ball or basketball.

Sometimes we'd drive around for hours just trying to find something to do, or just talking or whatever.

I'll admit if we were with a group most of the group would probably be drinking or doing drugs. I didn't do any of that stuff so I was generally designated driver, but even when we were doing that we usually just sat around and watched a movie or talked or whatever.

Ok, thanks for letting me reminisce.

tricia.

Heh. Yeah, ditto. I think we made it past the opening credits about 10% of the time. ;)
