What does this say about crowd expectations?

Looking at park reservation availability and saw that on Sunday, October 10, single-day, single-park tickets are available for both parks. However, ParkHoppers are available starting at DL only, cannot start at DCA. I know this is an OBB night. Any clue as to what they the reasoning might be on this? Magic Key reservations, which are park hoppers, are available as well.

Easiest answer would be they are trying to have fewer guests migrating to from DCA to DL in the afternoon as OBB kicks off, but this is the only day in October that I saw that has this restriction. Or it could be that they expect DCA to be busier than usual in the morning? Other OBB days have availability for both park hoppers and single park tickets starting at either park.

Passholders attending the party and spending the entire day?
Passholder reservations are still open to start at either park that day.

I think it's probably people who have PHs but aren't going to OBB so want to start at DCA before party crowds come (and early park close) then go to DL in the afternoon/evening. Single park comes from a separate bucket, likely so they don't have to account for shifting attendance partway through the day. That said, I think we've seen evidence before that Disney will move availability around from bucket to bucket so more PH availability could be shifted over from the single park bucket...

I am a little confused by your question - I don't think this necessarily has to do with what Disney has made "available," I just think it's a matter of the fact that people who are using parkhoppers and aren't going to OBB are starting at DCA that day, so those reservations are gone.

Oct. 10 is usually a really busy weekend (fall break), so it's not surprising that some of the ticket options would be starting to sell out. October 9 and 10 are currently DCA-start only for APs, so it's just a busy weekend in general...

That's a holiday weekend, Monday is a holiday. I think it has more to do with that being a 9 or 10 out of 10 in crowd size.

We'll be there and have will be starting at DL the hopping for DCA for the party. I got the reservation a while ago.

I have reservations for dca then disneyland that day. Made ressies few months ago.

I thought you only made reservations for one park per day and if you have hoppers you can hop after 1.

Do you have to actually reserve the hop too?

DL is so confusing!!
