What does the "at sea" day look like?

A whole lot of this:
image.jpeg However the Caribbean is much prettier, this was off the coast of Oregon heading to San Diego from Vancouver.

Sea days are the best! Lots of relaxing and we do trivia, bingo and usually there's a competitive round of Jack Jack's Diaper Dash. I agree with a PP, I would be happy sailing in circles for a week and never docking.

I love sea days. Like others I can't tell you exactly what I did but I believe we slept in, watched the diaper dash, went to mixology, did arts and crafts or trivia, took a nap, watched live shows or movies, drank some more or at least that is my vague recollection of the day.

Add me to the list of sea day lover!!!! I have always loved the sea days on DCL. In May on the Transatlantic cruise we had six sea days in a row and I loved them!! I felt they went by so fast. We would get up early (can't sleep in ever) and walk deck 4, have breakfast, go to cooking demo, hang in the hot tub or pool, go to lectures, trivia, etc.

We go to the shows every single night. I love the shows in the Walt Disney Theatre and even see the same show on subsequent cruises. For me it is part of the experience. I love them, even after 34 DCL cruises!!! I have seen Disney Dreams on every cruise that has it showing. We usually are always bringing new cruises with us when we cruise so I love seeing the shows and ship through their eyes.

I Relax. Relax some more. Spend some more time relaxing, and after I burn out from that, I relax. :-)

Seriously though, I go grab myself a chair on deck fairly early cause I never sleep late and DW does so I leave the cabin so she can sleep. I read for a bit.Do Mid-ship detective agency. Maybe join one of the character drawing classes or the tour of the ship which I enjoy learning all about the decorations. I look about at some of the artwork. Spend some time in satellite falls. Watch some funnel vision. I love sea days!!!!

At day seas are my favorite. The cruise will always have something going on. Plus you get to nap whenever you want :P I personally enjoy going to the top deck, go to the pool, play ping pong, rock climbing, soccer, basketball, whatever the cruise offers. Enjoy some food, Bingo every now and then just to test my luck. The shows are always fantastic. Enjoy some more food. Go to the gym, sauna, possibly get a massage. Watch a movie in the stateroom, Eat more food.

SO much to do but youre not obligated to do it. Do everything to your own pleasing and pace.

But, sitting on the verandah sounds so relaxing! I am most looking forward to sitting on it at night and just hopefully seeing a bunch of stars in the sky.

Stars are very hard to see when on the Disney ships because there is so much darned light pollution. I've been asking for years for them to do one night when they turn off lights on the forward section (Perhaps Satellite Falls) other than navigation lights for a few hours and perhaps do an educational program.

This is one of the reasons I love the northern Rockies of Colorado (Livermore, etc.) Night time is beautiful because of the starlight. Having lived in cities my entire life yet being a kid from Houston who grew up looking at the skies and dreaming of being an astronaut, I'm in seventh heaven when there is little to no light pollution.

Ah man! That's a bummer!

I don't think anyone has mentioned Nemo's Reef for the little one. I poked my head in to look and it looks like a whole lot of fun for the littles. Bring swim diapers.

Brunch is a must. And the Rainforest room.

I like to do some of the other things, DH doesn't. If yours is like this, you might be able to do some while he watches the little one, or take turns.

I love sea days. :) And so do my kids (14 and 13 years old)
A typical day at sea is made up of the following:
1. Sleep in....this is a major luxury for me as I have a dog who loves waking up at 6:45 AM to go out and play. (yes, that is Loki in my profile picture)
Please note that sleeping in means 9 AM or so. It is my dream that our next cruise (15 days out now) will include me sleeping in until 10! So exciting.
2. Brunch at Cabanas or whatever is open. I think room service is in our future this cruise. (never ordered DCL room service...I know absolutely shocking) :)
3. Movie with my son, club for my daughter, hot tub and boat drinks for my hubby.
4. After the movie, I will grab a book and head to the adults only area to read peacefully for as long as I can. I tend to doze though as I hear the whoosh of the water and the hum of conversation around me. Daughter will still be at the club and son will be hanging out with hubby...probably relaxing in the cabin.
5. It might be time for a walk around Deck 4. Or maybe a visit to see the delightful dessert items at the Cove. Or maybe another few pages of that book. :)
6. Mini golf is a pretty fun way to pass the time. Or Bingo...I have only won a small amount one time, but I will NOT give up hope that I win the jackpot.
7. It is time to have daughter come back and get ready for dinner. This time we have late dining (hate this) so maybe they can swim first depending on the water and wind temperature.
8. Dinner: My favorite not for the menu choices as much as I don't have to cook it or clean up after. I can sit and eat a complete meal with no interruptions of unwanted phone calls or emails pinging my phone. Also, so that we can reconnect as a family and talk about our day and commend ourselves on how lazy we were.
9. Clubs for the kids, and some club time for hubby and I. Or maybe a cognac tasting for hubby or poker with some new found friends.

Sorry this is so long and thank you for starting this thread...it reminds me of how much I love taking cruises. :)

We had brunch at Palo (awesome), went to the movies, then had wine tasting class. It was very nice! But I am not gonna lie, I prefer port of call days.
