I am not sure if this was the right place to post this, so please forgive me if it is posted incorrectly. My father in law has a grumpy hat with 37 on it, & he is going crazy trying to figure out what it stands for. Any ideas?? Thanks so much.

Thanks so much. I just searched it on the internet, I don't know why I did not think to do that before. I knew I could ask the all knowing disney board :goodvibes . My father in law was so happy to solve the mystery ha ha

That's done with several of the characters---their "number" is the two-digit year they were introduced. Exceptions include Lightning McQueen, who is always "95".

Thanks for that info. It is always good to know all the little tidbits, so when someone else asks I will be prepared ;) Since my family thinks I am the all knowing Disney fairy

And I am sure most people know this but for those who don't

95 is the year Toy Story cam out

86 (Chick Hicks' #) is the year Pixar was started

43 (The King's #) was John Lasseter's age when Cars came out

Thanks so much! I was wondering that about the Grumpy hat too! I just never thought to ask about it.

Did you read this somewhere or did you guess at this because "If you look hard enough you can find what you are looking for......"
The reason that I believe that 95 and 86 (correct me if I am wrong) are because they are currenty not used in todays Nascar Cup. If they used a certain number then prople would associate them with say "#24" well that would be Jeff Gordon not Lighting McQueen. Get it?

You are correct, they are not currently used in Sprint Cup. (Don't know about the other circuits) Now, I couldn't tell you if that is solely why they picked those numbers, but I can imagine that they couldn't use those assigned to Sprint drivers.

Thank you us unedumakated left turn fans must stick together. Richard Petty still owns rights to 43 so it was allowed.

OK, this just made me laugh because at the school where I work, "37" is code for a student who is a POS (just an inside joke, couldn't even tell you how it started)

I think they used 86 for Maxwell Smart and 43 because it's my age.
