What does MAry Poppins say?

We met her twice in April. Once at CRT and then in the toy store at Epcot. When we met her at Epcot we were the only ones around. She speaks with a British accent. My DDs told her that her movie was their favorite. She got down on the floor and sat them in her lap to talk to them. The said some lines from the movie and told them that she hoped they were having a good "holiday". She asked us to be on the lookout for Bert and tell him that she was looking for him and penguin. DDs were in heaven.

We met Mary at CRT, and I just can't remember what she said.

I do know that she wrote "Spit Spot" in DD's book in very precise script. :flower:

My niece sang the spoonful of sugar song to her when we met her at the PSB breakie. She responded in a British accent that that was "a good song for cleaning the nursery"

I thought she was delightful

Mary Poppins doesn't only say one thing over and over...that would be weird... why? Do you do that?

When we met Mary Poppins, she talked about her umbrella and told us it's name, which is Polly. She let my nephew hold Polly, which thrilled him! :)

Hope you can meet your favorite character soon! :teeth:

We met her at the Cinderella Breakfast....I almost trampled DD to get a photo with Mary as she was MY favorite when I was a munchkin (JK). :teeth:

She was GREAT! When we were posing for the picture she said "pardon me" before they snapped the photo and then turned to me and said "Young Lady, no slouching", then she pretended she was rubbing a spot off my nose, then she turned to my MIL and said "You may continue".

It was really one of those moments where I FELT the magic. I have a picture with me, Mary, and MY gorgeous munchkin framed and on my desk.

She's stopped often to talk to DD during Spectro. She talks about how pretty she is and asks if she is being a good girl, we just LOVE her

We met several Marys on our last trip. Our DS8 asked what Bert's last name was (he thought it was Potts - from Dick Van **** being Mr. Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!) and Mary said without missing a beat that his full name was Albert Something (I can't remember what she said his last name was). So when we saw Mary again, we aked her again what Bert's last name was and this time she replied, "That's a good question. I always called him Bert the Chimney Sweep." And she really can say Supercalafragalisticexpialidocious backwards!
(It's dociousaliexpiisticfragalcalirupus! - Can you tell I've listen to the sound track a million times with DD2! She loves her!)

She kept telling my girls to "Have a jolly holiday." We saw her in Fantasyland during our last trip in Dec. 2005. My girls (2 & 3) still remember this and always try to give their best British accent when imitating her.

I embarrassed Mary at CRT on December 26, 2003. It was "Boxing Day" and I made the mistake of asking Mary to explain to us what that was. She got flustered, said it was Boxing Day wasn't it, and said they could probably tell us over in Epcot. Cinderella came to her rescue and distracted us with more info about Christmas in the parks. Since then I've learned that folks used to box up things to give to their household help the day after Christmas. Perhaps our friends from the UK could say more. I really didn't intend to stump Mary.

My daughter had the rare privilige of riding with Mary Poppins on Cinderella's Carrosel(sp). She asked her what spit spot meant, and Mary said it meant hurry along, quickly, now. The Mad Hatter was on the ride as well. I'm not sure why.

When we met her at the CRT she teased my son who's name is Michael and talked to my little one about her upcoming halloween costume. She's going to be wearing the jolly holiday dress.

We were just watching the video from our last trip in 2003. (Next trip in 26 days) We saw Mary Poppins in MGM she was asking my DS if he was enjoying his holiday and if he was being a good boy for mom and dad? She had the penguin with her.

We spent about 5 minutes with Mary one day - we were in line to meet her when it was time for her break -

she told my DD she had to go ahve tea with Bert and that he didn't like it when she was late b/c he didn't like to float to the ceiling alone

when we came back to see her she remembered DD and told her she was beautiful and quite possibly the most precocious child she had ever met and that was a VERY good thing! She asked DD if she could say Supercali...backwards and then she stood up turned her back to us and said supercali...which was pretty funny and then she said - I think that is much easier to do than saying (and she said the word backwards for real!)

We love Mary!! I think she is very good at making kids feel like they are the best thing in the world!!!

We were all alone with Mary in Epcot years ago when my ds9 was a baby. He was one of those kids that would lean out of my arms and into other peoples if he liked them. So Mary ended up holding him and we have some great photos of her with him. She asked us how our Holiday was going and complimented us on how nice and polite our boys were, then she said "Well begun is half done!"- that has become a favorite family saying.

Boxing day is also St. Stephen's day, it is traditionally the day the "poor boxes" or the collection for the poor done in church are 'opened' and 'handed out'. It is also traditionally the day pepole would give gifts to those that provide them service in the year.

I ran into Mary at Epcot, we (DD8) were looking for the passport table, and I almost backed right into her... I was so startled, and then when I realized it was my favorite character, from when I was.. 4y., it conjured up delightful memories of Grandma (she just passed away...) Well, when I couldnt stop the tear ducts, and the line began to form, I started to walk away, and she said, just a second please, this is your moment, and I would very much like it for you and I to have our photo taken together...

I know I'm a sap... DD even rolled her eyes!! (DH was at the pub btw, totally embarrassed he missed it!! :rotfl: )

Sadly, we've missed Mary that last 2 trips to DW. I did tell my hubby and daughter that when I do see Mary I'm tellling her... "You are practically perfect in everyway.."
I know I'm almost 40 yrs old; but I love Mary Poppins...

2 month until I visit the Mouse in his first House- Disneyland :earsgirl:
