what does key say if staying on pts and linked to a cash ressie?

We're staying at VWL 6nights on pts and linked to another 2nights on cash.
Will our room key say DVC for the entire stay? or do we need to get a 2nd set of keys after the pts stay?

If the cash ressie is through MS with the member discount, they should be able to link the ressies and you'll get one set of keys. They will say DVC member then for the entire time. If the cash ressie is through CRO, you'll need to check-out and re-check back in, though you probably won't have to change rooms. The CRO ressie won't say DVC member on the keys.

I've done it both ways - points stay linked to a MS cash reservation and points stay linked to a CRO reservation. It was as Lori described - one set of member for the linked MS cash reservation and separate non-member keys for the CRO reservation.

If your cash reservation is through CRO, make sure when you check it you get the room blocked so you don't have to move. If you don't tell them ahead of time, you may have to move. And you will have to get new room keys, even if you stay in the same room.

Also, if the reservation is through CRO, your room ID will not say member.
