All that from majoring in music ed my first time around in college.

HEY! luccccky you!!! how do you do that---that would be pretty nice to have around here--i live in the Lehigh Valley in PA, well known for the hospitals-Lehigh Valley Hospital(known for its heart care) St.Luke's Hopsital as well(Trauma). Check your PM's as well! But yeah thats awesome to work from home:cheer2:

I did check my PM's, thanks!

I have been looking for a job for over one year. I did home daycare for 17 years, and thought I would like to get back in the work force.

I worked for this same hospital for 18 years, before I left to stay home with my DD's. That's when I started the home daycare.

Well my DH works for the same hospital and he saw that this position was open, funny thing is the radiology dept is where I started out in this hospital. So DH called to ask about the position and the Director said the job was mine, and by the way it's working from home.

I have been only doing it for a month now. They set you up with phone and computer. When a patient calls they think they are talking to someone in the hospital. So far I like it.

The Mom here, LOL. I'm a SAHM to a 6 and 8 yr old and one on the way. Formerly I've done just about everything...from Target (management) to banking to insurance to working in call center for a major credit card company to writing evals to teaching preschool, you name it! Plus volunteer, that's what I've been doing for the last 2 years and I love that the best!! We move every 2-3 years so it's nice having experinence in just about everything, but the downfall is all these jobs are not big $$ jobs LOL. I go for low-stress over money but luckily DH has a great secure job with a pension. :)

I have a degree in psychology if you were wonder what wonderful/useless but interesting degree I had LOL!

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I have a B.A. in psychology---had to get an ADN in nursing 15 years ago to find a job:rolleyes:

I'm a student majoring in psychology right now. Hoping to be a social worker for the government. I just have to have a bachelor's degree, not anything particular, so I picked psychology.

:guilty: Not to make you nervous but in 1990 when I graduated with my Psych degree the only job I could find was as a caretaker at a Home for wards of the state of Alabama. Minimum wage was $4.25 an hour and that was what they were going to pay me:sad2: --they were wanting someone with a Master's to work for $18,000 a yr. Again this was in 1990 but $18,000 was horrible then.:scared: I loved the subject and really had good intentions of working with people. I was also very innocent for my age and Nursing was a good approach for me using my degree. I did well with the technical training of it and get to use some of my psych everyday. Best of luck to you. My nephew is going to into the same field (psychology). My Mother asked me the other day if I had had a talk with him about my difficulties finding employment. I said "yes", but don't expect him to listen:faint: to me like I didn't listen to my parents when they told me it would be a difficult to find a job with psychology.

Forgive me for rattling on. My degree was a B.A. not a B.S. So I can put a rat in a Skinner box and plot how many times he taps a lever to get a food pellet--it is a more acedemic type degree that an applied clinical type degree. My academic counselors were not very good at advising or directing me. I should have gone into an education route. Moral of the story is--make sure you take the right tract for your interests or you may end up spending lots of time on something you really haven't thought out. Luckily for the world out there I am a much better nurse than skinner-box-pellet-counter....

Again much happiness to those of you getting pysch degrees:worship: --best of luck and thanks for letting me rant...:upsidedow

I have a B.A. in psychology---had to get an ADN in nursing 15 years ago to find a job:rolleyes:
I will be getting my B.A in psychology in May and already have a job lined up, one that my degree is useful. I even have found a job as an undergrad that utilizes some psychology. I plan to go to graduate school after a year long break, so I know I will be good after that, but I really am surprised that people can't find relevant careers.

I also have a shot at a university psychology research position.

I guess I should be happy I had to work through school, maybe that's whyI don't seem to have a problem.
