made two of my daughters associates. One just today.

this newest one is also a member herself. Does this mean either of can make or adjust the other’s vacation? I’m fine with that and so are they.

the story behind this complex but we need to know asap,

tia

However, the associate member does not get, absent being an actual member, most incidental benefits that a member can get, such as discounts at restaurants and stores.

Associates can call and be allowed to access both memberships by phone To make and modify trips.

Just remember to have a training session or 2 so they understand what they are doing. A mistake could cancel your trip and you may may not be able to get it back.

Update,,, without the complexity. 5 hours with 4 Ms Folks. my daughter and I had each llisted each of us as Associate to the other early on Labor Day. Neither of the lists had come through so MS could not permit all the plan switches We had needed.

I couldn’t communicate with my daughter to have her verbally authorize me. My son in law was working nights and I hated to wake him. He finally saw my 7 texts to him late morning. He called me. I asked him to call MS to authorise me. In the meantime I was waiting to be answered by DVC simultaneously.

he gets through! He authorizes me! I’m still on the phone with my MS person, very competent, and I literally held BOTH phones together so she could complete the authorization.

Another half hour later we completed most but not all of our needs, but not biggies.

many lessons to be learned from this. But it all ends well, grateful to all your suggestions, grateful to SIL for going through listening to the same Disney music on the phone whilst waiting. Most of all grateful to Hebar? for her patience and expertise. None of this would have worked online.

and speaking of Hebar?, couldn’t get her name straight, I hung up as soon as we were finished. I was tired! And I was anxious to praise her on the survey. I can’t figure out whom or how to contact to do that.

I owe that to her.

done’s anyone have a link I can use? Thanks

I work 12+ hour shifts during the day so I am frequently unable to access MS by phone. I made my dad an associate member on my account since he loves to plan trips with me and travel with me. DH never really got involved in our vacation planning and he is "Disney-ed out" and doesn't go on our WDW trips anymore. My dad has his own log in and account info and he has access to my account, but he does not have any perks or benefits. He is able to manage my points and reservations (which is exactly what I need him to do!)...he is like my personal DVC TA:).

Just a note that Associate Members cannot authorize point transfers. I am an associate on my parent's contract and manage most of my family's trips and points but we were recently transferring unused points and MS would only speak to the deeded owner.

Interesting. Never done this, but was planning to at some point.
