Well, I thought I was through shopping for Christmas, but now I don't think my dd9 will like much of what I got her. Perhaps its too young for her. when I ask her what she wants she never has any suggestions. Here's what I got her:
American Girl Kristen Doll
Several Kristen outfits
Other American Girl Doll outfits
All AG stuff bought on Ebay, can't return, maybe I could try to re sell it?
Several children's classic books:
Little Princess
Secret Garden
Little Women
Jo's Boys
LIttle House on the Prarie 9 vol. set
Anne of Green Gables
a laptop (refubrished, great employee discount)
Nintendo games:
Nintendo dogs Dalmation & Labador
DVd's:
Little House on the Prarie set of 6 DVDs
Cars
Monster House
AG Coconut Pajamas and slippers, and coconut pj for her AG doll. Bought on Ebay
Furby Friend
It seems so paltry comapred to other years, however, dh is laid off. Most everything was bought through Ebay, used (excellent condition) books, much can't be returned.
However, she doesn't seem to be into that stuff anymore. I just thought she'd like AG stuff, but come to think of it she really doesn't play with them anymore. I spent a lot of time putting outfits together for her and the doll. But it seems she's lately interested in Hannah Montana, That's so Raven, Cheetah Girls. I don't really care for those shows and try to limit her viewing of them because I think they were starting to be a bad influence on her. I don't want to encourage it, but what else can I get her?
I'm just afraid she'll de dissappointed Christmas morning. She seems to be more into clothes, make up, etc. Perhaps I could somehow either take back or sell the AG stuff and get her some make up, perhaps a gift card for Claires (that's the biggest junk store I ever saw!), maybe some clothes from Justice for Girls, well.....
So, does a 9 year old girl even like AG stuff anymore, or do they just play with what they got for gifts from previous years with wanning interest? At least I can return the AG Kristen doll, its still in the box. And the Little House on the Prarie DVDs, come on! They are sappy! she'd watch them once. You can always catch them in reruns on tv, anyways!Actually, I'm thinking of returning all the DVD's, got them at Costco. My kids watch a DVD about once, anyways.
I thought my shopping was all done, now I'm kinda bummed looking at the stuff I've got for her--its way too baby for her!
