Taking our 2 year old grandson to Magic Kingdom, wondering if there is anything a toddler would enjoy on tom sawyer island? are there any play areas? Or is it just walking on paths?

I think that this is a great spot, to let them burn off some energy... maybe have a snack and drink... and kinda regroup..

When we have taken our DGS.. we have made Tom Sawyers Island a spot every time we take him, starting at 2 and he will be 5 this month... I always pack his favorite snacks, and grab some drinks, and sit at the tables or rocking chairs, and enjoy the paddle boat going by, he like to stand at the railing, and wave as it goes by... now he like to run over the barrel bridge...

When I was a kid, you could buy ice cream, and other treats, even hot dogs I think... I really feel this is a missed area... and needs just a bit of love...

There is a fort/play area - and lots of various paths, caves, etc. But in my opinion 2 is on the younger side to get any true enjoyment out of Tom Sawyer Island. It’s better suited for older children who can run around / climb around the fort.

At 2, my kids spent more time at the play area in the Dumbo queue and also the play area under the train staton over by Splash Mountain. Those two areas are more fitting for that age, in my opinion.

Tom Sawyer's island is pretty much just a place for kids to run around for a while. I would recommend skipping it until he's older.

We took my daughter to Tom Sawyer Island when she was 2 on our very first trip. There wasn’t really much for her to do there other than just run around so we kinda regretted “wasting” our time on that. It’s been 7 years since then and we’ve been back to MK many times but we’ve never gone back to Tom Sawyer Island!!

Lol - my son is now 9 and finally at an age where I can feel somewhat relaxed with him on Tom Sawyer Island. When he was younger I lost track of him a few times around the fort/caves and it scared me to death.

But like you, we went years without going back!

Yup, definitely didn't find it relaxing for anyone! Lol! Mine are 9 and 6 now so we could probably do it easier the next time we go back but I'd rather take a break by just stopping to eat a Dole Whip! 🤣

I love Tom Sawyer's island. My kids love exploring it and there's a playground. Great place to take the kids, especially if the older ones are riding BTMR or Splash.
