What do your friends think...

Do your friends know that you post on forums and particularly the DIS? If they do, what do they think of it?

I only ask, because somehow the subject of forums came up whilst I was sitting in my form room. I mentioned I post on forums and my friend goes "Omg, you geek! What do you talk about" and I say, "haha.. erm, well like on one of them we talk about Disney and theme parks and stuff" (she knows I like that stuff) and she just like laughs at me, and is like "Why?!"
It wasn't really malicious or anything, but there is an attitude at my school where if you literally go on forums, you are a bit lame.

So what do your friends think?

My friend knows I post on forums, but she doesn't know which ones.
My other friends just plain don't know.
One time though I said something about my friend from Tennessee and my friend was all 'Oh you know, from that time you spent in TN, y'all are old buds'
Sarcastic. She doesn't approve.
But I don't care lol.

My friends know that I post on a lot of forums, and they post on some as well. I'll occasionally mention my Canadian friend and then we'll talk about each other's online friends. Yeah...but we're geeks, but we're cool geeks.

Two of them have accounts. Another knows about it. One has only posted about 4 times, the other posted a bit over the summer. They don't post or go here anymore.

The one that's posted about 4 I talk to about all the time. She knows some of my friends on here not really by name but I say "__insertname__ from the forums were talking about...." and she knows what I'm talking about. I complain about how slow it is loading and when some huge argument blows up here and interesting stuff I learn. Lol.

The other friend I don't talk to about it. I don't think she remembers it.

Some other friends know I post on a forum they're like "Eww, it's probably some stalker."

No, and I prefer to keep it that way. I'm an open person, but there are a few parts of my life that I like to keep my own.
Everyone has something that they like to keep as "their own", that no one has to no about.

I have two, the Dis and fanfics. I don't tell anyone I like them because I like to keep it as my own. This is the first time I've ever mentioned the latter.

my friends don't know.. it never really came up.
but they already think i love disney enough so i don't think it would help if they knew about the DIS
and they certainly dont know that i sometimes go on The Script forum XD

I tell them about "my forum" and I just tell them it's a Disney forum if they ask what forum I'm talking about. None of them really care about Disney too much so I doubt they'll be joining. I've sent a link once or twice to show one of them a thread from the CB that I thought would interest them. I'd be annoyed if they did join though...I like being able to vent about things I don't agree with on here.

Hm. My oldest friends know about it, and I think one of them posts on here. We talk about it a lot.

My newer friends have heard me talk about it, and I'll show them threads and stuff.

No one rly seems to care.

Some know I do and they dont really approve of it
They think its weird I talk to people on-line
But they know I'm a computer geek and when I have extra time I like to go to these places lol
I dont really care what others say I like it here I can talk about things my friends wouldnt want to hear and would make fun of me for talking about...

Realistically I dont want my friends to join...
Then I couldnt say anything about my personal life that I dont like to talk about in front them and when I had a issue with them they would know if I asked for advice...

none of my friends know. and i dont really want them to. i say things that i wouldn't realy say to them. my older sister knows though. she was going to join but then found out i was on here so she said she wouldn't join.
