Star Wars

Cantina.
I do NOT want the Cantina to be a quick service place to eat. I want it to be a place to get a lot of really silly (non alcoholic) drinks and have alien comedians work the crowd. This is a meet and greet area for Han and the Wookie, but also for surprise Jedis cutting off alien arms. Oh and the occasional droid needs to be thrown out.

Jaba's Pallace. This could be a show, with Jaba as host and C-3P0 serving as translator.
and the occasional act could drop to the Bantha below. Han is still a wall decoration.

The Sith academy.

Led by some of the new villains in movies. Kids can train for the dark side.

There are three things that do not cost a lot, and can be put together quickly, and more importantly, open EARLY. teasers. whet the appetites for more.

Pixar Land
I'm mostly expecting this to be a kiddie land for HS. and I still really want Cars Land there, but we'll see.

Inside Out really is a better fit for Epcot.
But caricature artists can show whats in your head. photoshop that with the customer, and you have a real fun souvenir.

Toy Story Playground. everything is giant sized. even a Barbie house.

The Incredibles. This is an E Ticket Ride.

The Bugs Life Circus, They already have an eticket show in AK. This could be the playground or a simple kiddie land of rides. I would love to see an animatronic ride through the movie. the circus would be a great story telling venue.

No no no. You can have the stuff you want at the cantina and it can still serve food, I see it like BoG cs during the day and ts at night, now Jabba's palace I see as a signature dining with all the entertainment you described plus max and the band. If they have a dark side experience it will be for a ride or something. I just don't see most parents wanting even for pretend to train their child to be lawful evil. I know that they are adding kid rides to the other sections but I would really like a kid accessible ride in swl. It would cost way to much so they will never do it but I would love spaceship earth the death star edition containing with in it the history of the empire.

If pixar land is the mythical phase three (no bet) I see clones in its future with maybe one new eticket but if we get a new eticket there will be no rsr it will be one or the other. Because phase three is still really far away by the time they are doing it the restrictions about kura arm rides I think will be over, so the rumored incredible's kura arm ride or the monster door coster are possibilities. If Rsr is not the eticket, I think we get a DL Cars clone. I would be pleased with a Remy clone. I am sceptical about a playground as I sort of see them doing that in phase one, Andy's backyard.

I think the cantina is fairly certain. However this Star Wars land is not based on anything that exists in the current six movies. It's completely new.

Toy story land is confirmed. No Pixar land.

Incredibles is heavily rumored right now as another thing coming to DHS. Other rumors include monsters inc.

Inside out no. Bugs life no.

No Pixar land is not a mythical phase 3. Toy story is phase 1. Star Wars phase 2. Phase 3 is rumored to be monsters inc or incredibles at this time.

Mr Mann, no disrespect to the OP....but Pixar Land is officially Toy Story Land, if I read the release correctly. Here is the link:

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...to-come-to-life-at-disneys-hollywood-studios/

Also, regarding Star Wars Land: maybe I'm splitting hairs b/c I am a die-hard fanatic and long-time SW watcher, but can we please call "the Wookie" by his name? He is Chewbacca, or Chewie to his closest friends. LOL. Also, please PLEASE...there is no such word as "Jedis". They are called Jedi, whether one or many. Die-hard SW fans will understand.

Love some of the ideas I've seen here. Cannot wait for SWL and TSL to come to fruition!

I agree, Incredibles and Inside Out need to find their place in the World, DHS would be perfect! It would also be a way to incorporate superheroes in the parks.

BTW...does anybody else want to see what kind of Mickey ears are available after all this? I'm certainly excited to see...

I honestly don't care what they build as long as it adds both new attraction systems and new NON QUICKSERVICE OR HYBRID food offerings.

Not that I'm anti quickservice...cause I'm not...but I don't need another be our guest...which has quickly become the most overrated place in wdw.

The other thing I "want"
Out of MGM is that they don't sit on it for 10-20 years after they redo it.

That is the BIGGEST mistake this amateur management group makes...thinking you can rest on laurels in an amusement park and maintain quality...because you cannot.

That is the case in the entire history of amusements...there are no exceptions.

I'm not a ADR person at all. I couldn't care less about the food in WDW. But I think what makes BOG so popular is not the food, but the theme. I would be more than happy with another BOG in Star Wars and TSL, because I want more chances to visit movie settings in real life. Whether it's a QS or a TS, I don't care too much. But I think it is good to have hybrids like BOG so it allows the most people to experience it.

Since I've been to all three meals at BOGed down...I can venture my full review...

For breakfast and lunch...you pay double the price for decent quickserve that is slightly above average. For dinner, you pay dinner price for the SAME slightly above average quick serve with a few add ons.

All for "theme"...which honestly isn't THAT mind blowing.

We're gonna get another one of these over in adventureland...I would assume one is coming to animal kingdom and MGM...

Don't look past them converting frozen in the real world land to one either in a year or two.

It's a bad trend.

I don't like reservations either...but since they canned the casual
System years ago and
Everyone sucked it up with the dining plan...there's limited options.

The Sith academy.

Aren't the Sith a little bit too murderous and genocidal to try to emulate even in the name of fun? Murdering sand people, cutting all the junior Jedi into little pieces, blowing up planets with billions of people and everything.

Better to add them as a spice, a whiff of evil, intruding on the essentially "good" role models and "good" training.

Overall these are great ideas though. The SW and Pixar universes are both huge and have fantastic possibilities for great theme park lands.

I think Disney has to try a lot harder to make the food options very new and original. If you listen to Jim Hill's description on the Disney Dish podcast of how they came up with food and drink options for Harry Potter, they literally combed the books and movies and came up with a huge list of food "mentions" then spent a lot of effort plussing everything up and filling in briefly mentioned items (like Gillie Water) with imaginative and cool concoctions. And for Springfield USA they went all out, to the point of making Krusty Burgers that are "not just regular old theme park burgers with cute names" and building their own Duff microbrewery. For crying out loud Disney, get in the game!

Call me confused about how Cars Land just fell away from the running. Last conclusive word we got from Lee and Marni: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/dhs-makeover-what-we-know-so-far.901774/page-204#post-6946764

Finally, the last solid piece of info I can find from any of the biggest "insiders."

These things are fluid.

Madame Tussaud's in London has a replica Jabba the Hutt.

I know he wont appear in any future films so the likeliness of him appearing in Star Wars land is slim as i think they want it to remain timeless to the franchise but he would be awesome to have him somewhere.

It's been awhile...so let's check the scoreboard:

1. Cars land gives a specific draw to Anaheim that creates a cross sell opportunity.
2. Wdw has test track...one of the most expensive rides ever constructed by a nautical a mile...which not only uses a similar ride system/concept...but is also partially outside....
3. Disneyland crowds are less than wdw and that will never change...which means ride capacity is a huge issue. Probably why we only get on omnimoversn and simulators anymore. What's a 4 hour California wait translate to in Florida dollars?
4. As hinted above...the weather in Florida doesn't fit the primary design of carsland. If you have to shorten it for capacity and move it inside and still spend a fortune...what's the point?

1) I don't think Disney cares about fan's obsessions with having unique offerings on each coast. I think they way they sold Star Wars Land was telling. Essentially it said something like "coming to a Disney Park near you." Disney pays for one ride design that can be cloned. One R&D team that can share their work with both projects. Designs one immersive land and builds it in each. It's almost like a movie premiere. Why make two different movies for two markets when you can make one movie both markets will love? They don't. Having attractions on both coasts also creates branding and marketing synergies between all domestic Disney Parks. When you walk into a Magic Kingdom, you know you'll find Frontierland. Walk into DCA and DHS and you'll find Cars.

2) While true that a direct RSR clone would have been costly to build and maintain, (while also burdening the park with another big attraction that could be closed due to inclement weather) the plans we heard either constituted an entirely different ride system or perhaps even an indoor version of RSR. The version of Cars Land we were supposed to get was never going to be on the level of the one in Anaheim, but sort of a condensed Cars Land lite. That made sense. Also some of the design work done on the west coast version likely could've been reused in the east for better cost savings.

3) We're getting no omni-movers as far as I know currently, and the simulators we're getting are specialty like Avatar or upgrades to TSMM. We are getting a new exciting boat ride, a new roller coaster, and a new signature attraction along the lines of Spider Man and Indiana Jones. Millennium Falcon may end up being a simulator, but we don't know. I think they're still willing to make big bets on new ride systems, and keep in mind that RSRs is a people eater.

4)Cars Land isn't RSRs and RSRs isn't Cars Land. Simple as that. Replacing the anchor attraction with a new attraction seems to be a logical move. Make a smaller version of Radiator Springs and everyone's a winner.

Honestly which one at the end of the day makes more money on merchandise? Monsters Inc. or Cars (millions of boys with die cast cars)? From everything I've heard Cars remains one of the largest franchises Disney owns for marketing. Disney Parks following suit makes sense.

Phase three or whatever we want to call it is years off from being announced so right now its only conjecture

as for cars land as far as we know Disney has not announced another cars movie coming out. Toy Story and Star Wars both have films coming out and in the case of Star Wars a few films coming out.

I think if Disney was to do a Cars Land in DHS and announce it in a few years they would run the risk of not having a new enough movie to draw upon. I think Disney is trying to focus on lands in which they feel they can continuly market and release new films to make it relevant.

Take avatar, as much as some people do not like it, their are plans for more movies and of course it was a box office hit. Toy Story is the first Pixar hit dare I say the first Pixar Classic, and well Star Wars is a cash cow.

I can not and will not guess what phase three will be since it is so far in the future we have no idea.

Yeah I heard they wanted cars to stay Cali exclusive. Jim still thinks a version of RSR is coming and monsters inc he hasn't said anything about incredibles.

Disney has in fact announced a Cars 3 for 2017 if I'm not mistaken

Jim is a quack.

I can make up a ride rumor and do a podcast based on it from the kitchen while I'm eating captain crunch too...

The cars thing doesn't make sense on so many planes I can't remember them all at one sitting...

But everytime its pointed out...you get "well why not?"

It's definition of insanity time with this.

If you really want to go on "RSR"...and feel like you're missing something...

I'll buy you a red eye ticket to LAX.

It's not like you can't get there with "minor" effort.
