What Do You Want Done With Your Body After You Die?

Organs donated if possible, body donated to science, then remains cremated. I've told my family it's up to them what to do after that, surprise me!

Well, I'm hoping that by the time I kick they can put my brain into a Robocop or something, but barring that, I'll donate to the medical schools and then be cremated.

Cremated and then buried. DH is another one that has an aversion to the thought of being cremated. He wants to be buried, which I think has more to do with his religious belief than anything else.

Organs donated. Cremate me, store my ashes in a coffee can, then when DH dies and is cremated, spread our ashes somewhere together. Dealer's choice.

DH's wishes are the same.

I want to be cremated and put in with my mother's ashes. That's all I want, is to be with her.

Cremated. I had the Disney scatter idea, as well. If not, somewhere else I love--the Grand Canyon, Palm Springs, or Puerto Rico. If my family wants to keep some in an urn, fine. But I don't want anyone to feel obligated to visit me by being buried.

Although with all of my health issues, donating my body to science might be a good idea. I already donated my thyroid when it was removed, and hope it fascinated some med students here in Jersey!

There is always the Body Farm to donate to, but I don't think they give back cremated remains.

Oddly, I was just thinking about this this morning. I really don't care. Whatever is easiest and cheapest for my family. I don't want anyone spending a ton of money on a fancy coffin or anything like that. Cremation is just fine, or if they would really rather, bury me. I really have no preference.

Toast and toss... and some in a bottle tossed into the ocean with a note that says throw me back if I wash ashore, so I can finally travel. My kids or whoever can sprinkle me wherever there is sunshine:sunny: ..I don't want ANY memorial etc..want them to use the $ to travel to sprinkle me~ and if they can include HI in there, awesome as it means I could finally get them there, something I have not been able to do (yet;)) I certainly do not care to be in a single spot making my kids think they have to visit there..and I have been stuck in one spot long enough thank you...no way for the afterlife.
That said, everyone go and LIVE this weekend!

My post life choices are highly influenced by my career. I work in stem cell transplant. I see people getting stem cells from pure (living) strangers everyday and I am amazed by the beauty of this selfless act. Thus,I want anything I have left that is usable to be donated. Then I want to be a cadaver for medical education. I had one, loving known as Betty, and learned so much from her that I want to pass the gift on. After they are done with me my family can do whatever they want with the ashes. I don't want to take up any space on our precious earth. I just hope to leave this earth better than I found it.

Cremated but not scattered. Either buried or put in a columbarium with a proper headstone/marker so if my children/grandchildren want to visit with me they have a place to go.

I'm another one that really doesn't care what happens to me after I'm gone. I've told my husband I don't want a funeral or anything like that but if he feels the need, it's completely up to him.

For those of you who don't care, please consider donating to education or science -- so much good can come from the research it enables. And it's easy, doesn't cost you or your family money like a funeral.

Thank you, I would be fine with this, if my family was.
