Family vacations
Parent teacher conferences (cause I’m mom)

My sick leave goes to all of our kids doctors appointments, cause we have 3 still at home. I wish DH could transfer some of his sick leave to me, because his schedule rarely alllows for last minute leave. Alas our employer won’t permit it.

The only thing that keeps me at my job now is the 13 paid holidays and the 21 days vacation time, and my 15 days of sick leave every year. I have to use the vacation time or I lose it. Some of it we take trips. Disney, Universal, whatever. Some of it is used for kids sports stuff. Taking off early to get to a game, or to get to wrestling weigh ins. We do some 3 day weekend trips to Denver for football games. The problem ends up being that the kids can't get out of school as often as I can get out of work lol. And football doesn't happen during the summer, and I ain't doing Disney in July. Oh there are also some other random unofficial days we get off. Like the day after thanksgiving isn't a formal state holiday, but the governor usually gives it to us. This year July 5th we got off, which has never happened in the 20+ years I've worked for the state. Depending on when Christmas eve falls sometimes we get that day.

The random holidays I have off but my kids have school like Columbus day or Veterans day I do one of 2 things. Absolutely nothing and enjoy being home alone, or all the things I possibly can.

I don't get paid worth a darn, but I get a lot of time off lol

I don’t work, H has unlimited time off (used to have 6 weeks vacation and unlimited sick leave). He still works when we are on vacation.
