What Do You Use to Secure Your Belongings On The Beaches?

Looking for any recommendations on what people use to secure their cell phones, passports, iPads, etc. when they go off the boat And to castaway cay or any other beach excursions? Never really worried about it when at a WDW pool, but being in the ocean with my passport on the beach is another story.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Castaway I don’t take my passport.

Only beach excursion I’ve had elsewhere involved trusted guides and I left it in my backpack in the boat.

I wouldn’t take an iPad. Kindle ok (Dh works there so we have an endless supply of older models). Wr never have all adults away from the lounge chairs at once.

I always leave our passports in our stateroom safe on the ship. You'll only need your Key to the World cards (for everyone) and drivers licenses (for adults) on the islands.

I use a sturdy waterproof lanyard that holds my phone and important cards (drivers license, KTTW, credit card), and keep it around my neck at all times. I would never leave my cell phone or important cards unattended on a Caribbean beach.

You can buy a good waterproof phone & card lanyard on Amazon, but they might also have them at REI or Academy.

Which beach are you planning to visit where you will bring your passport?

Nassau for the passport, but also thinking like something that would fit a small camera or maybe an iPad.
You don't need to take your passport off of the ship at Nassau. You will need a government issued photo id, like a driver's license, but the Bahamas do not require a passport. As far as the rest of your question goes, I can't help you. Our strategy has been to hit the water in shifts, with someone staying back to guard our stuff, if we have any stuff worth guarding.

I recommend using your phone for a camera if you plan on hitting the beach, and using a waterproof pouch to protect it. I personally wouldn't walk around with an iPad on a 3rd world island. A little too obvious...

The Caribbean islands just require drivers license & KTTN for ship passengers, not passports.

I don't take my good camera or anything of value off the ship either. I bought a cheap kodak waterproof camera that I use to take pics when we go on excursions. I've seen others post about using a kyss bag that has a built in lock to keep their stuff in. I don't have this bag, just seen it recommended. At cc most people just leave their stuff on chairs, we do this and have never had a problem.

People have recommended the kyss totes:

Also, you can buy wire mesh with a lock on it from PacSafe:

These all obviously have to be locked TO something that can't be taken easily, like a chair or a post.

There is also this gadget, but not for an ipad:

Again, it needs to be locked TO something, though.

In my case, I just took a waterproof case like this:
https://www.amazon.com/WITZ-Keep-Wa...1&ie=UTF8&qid=1515359818&sr=8-4&keywords=witz

I wore it under my one piece bathing suit between my cleavage and it was fine. This is also the brand I'd recommend. I'd bought a cheaper one at the airport and it leaked. The Witz didn't.

I just bought something like this. They’re like $10. Passport stays in safe and I carry my drivers license and KTTW card.

We no longer take any that doesn't fit into a waterproof case around our neck or that we don't care if we never see it again. We had our backpack with shirts and sunscreen stolen at Atlantis. I'm betting they were disappointed when they found out that was all that was in there.

I can recommend the KYSS bag. I have the medium and it is a generous size. I cruise about 6 times with it, no problems.

I love my KYSS bag. I have the large which is super big and probably too big for most people, but for my family it is perfect. We have used it on 2 cruises, a few beach trips, and MANY trips to the local waterpark and have absolutely no complaints.

We can fit 3 towels, cover ups, sunscreen, electronics and more in the bag.

I just put it in the safe in the Cabana when we are on CC. :smooth:

We dont get off the boat in Nassau anymore

When we were in Hawaii, we used a waterproof waist pack, so it held a little more stuff.

If you go for the waterproof bag- be sure to thoroughly test it before you leave! The defect rate is fairly low, but they still exist. So place a piece of paper in the pouch and submerge it in water for a couple hours to make sure the seals hold.
