Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but what do you use to tote your stuff in around the park?

The last time I was in disney was pre-kids. I think I carried a fanny pack with my room key, camera, and money. That was it. This time, I have two kids with me (one in diapers). So I'll have to carry diapers, wipes, sunscreen, water bottles, cameras, etc.

I think I can fit it all in a backpack, but what do you do with it when you are on the attractions? My fanny pack stayed around my waist. I can't imagine taking a backpack on rock-n-roller coaster!

What do you do?

STROLLER.

For our trips we used our stroller, in fact that stroller has been more places than I had been pre-P-Nut.

Find a good stroller that has plenty of storage space, but yet something that will be easy to make visible for security to inspect when entering the park. During our trips we've had 1 maybe 2 backpacks and/or a baby-sling and then a camera bag. Most if not all of this fit in the storage bin on the bottom of the stroller.

One other thing to not forget is also a poncho or some sort of rain cover in case of bad weather.

HTH,
Jason

I always carry a backpack. At least that way my hands are still free most of the time. I also just put it in the floor of the coaster and put one leg through the straps. I have never had a problem and I carry a lot of stuff (three kids). Good luck and have fun!!

I have used in the past with a rating of 1-5 (5 being I'll use it again and again)

~Crocs Backpack-3-one of the zipper hoops broke. we didn't have a jibblex thing in it. we think that might be why. It also showed a lot of wear after a 1 week trip
~mini Ful sling-5-I love this bag but it only works in spring/summer (when I don't need a jacket) and I only need my autograph books and small ponchos
~even smaller roots bag-5-great when I just need my autograph book
~Disney camera bag-5-I love this bag, it's got a comfortable strap, and it's easy to open and close
~Vera Brady Cargo Sling-2-It wasn't comfortable, and didn't protect things in the bags from the elements
~standard backpack-4-It worked, but I really had to organize it well.

I think I've used 3 or 4 other bags that I'm not thinking of. Because of the size of my camera, I've never gone bagless to the parks.

we always use a back pack. If we are going to be in a park all day we usually get a locker for our coats.

Check out the thread called "Post pics of your bag you carry into park" under Disney World Tips. There's about a million reviews of bags that people bring into the parks! Very helpful! :goodvibes

I just added these photos to another thread... just in case you don't see that one, I'll add them here.

I carry the Vera Bradley Hipster. Very, very comfortable. Super easy to carry, and have your hands free. It holds a lot with out being bulky. I was able to keep it on me for every ride (I took it off for Kali River Rapids - it is not water proof - easily solved with a zip-loc bag).

Here are the promised photos, of me carrying it in the parks.

HTH! :)

My husband carried a back pack the entire time we were in Disney... He just hooked one of the straps around his knee, and he was allowed to have it right on the ride with him. However, I am not certain about EE - I can't remember if he had to leave his bag, or if he was allowed to carry it with him.

backpacks is a good choice but you always need someone to carry them on the back, or on the front.....pirate:

When we went a couple years ago and had grandchildren with us, we used a clear plastic backpack. We simply left the backpack in the basket of the stroller when we went on rides/attractions. I would put my wallet, money in my pocket but everything else stayed in the backpack in the stroller and we had no problems at all.

Last year when we went, it was just my DH and I, we bought a smaller mesh backpack and took in on rides/attractions with us. Security loved the see thru backpacks both times.:thumbsup2

If you take a stroller and put backpack in the stroller make sure you dont leave camera, money in stroller cause they will get stolen. Also put something on the stroller to show that its yours

I've gone with and without kids a bunch of times and here's our plan of attack...

WITH KIDS = backpack. Pretty much any backpack that is comfortable, will hold what you need and has decent organization (more than one big pocket) will do the trick. Various backpacks have been on nearly every ride with us with no size issues (and I'm not a teeny weeny girl).

WITHOUT KIDS = any small bag. I am loving my Hey's Travelmate right now. It has a waterproof pouch, great organization and a water bottle holder. LOVE IT.

Good luck and have fun!

We used a backpack to keep our stuff in. One of the adults would usually hold on to it or we would would leave it in the designated area to leave bags when you get on the ride. We never kept anything valuable in it, just snacks, wipes, sunscreen, etc. just in case.

As I saw posted previously, it is SO important to use zip lock baggies! I always put these in my bags with all my "can't get wet" stuff. I also found an awesome bag at AKL which I later saw sold in AK. It is like the hipster bags but it is Disney and a tan canvas color so it is O.K. for guys too. Just in case you want someone to carry your stuff! ;)

If I go "girls only" - I carry backpack (usually Vera Bradley Campus, as it is lightweight and comfy) + little matching crossbody bag for valuables. I like having everything with me, though I don't have little kids.

When we have my husband with us - he is the backpack person :)) I don't make him carry my Vera Bradley though - he has his own :))) But we always have one backpack for a company. We do it everywhere, not just for Disney.

We take backpack on the rides with us, on the floor with legs on the sides. Never had issues. The only ride we didn't take backpack on was Soaring: there everybody is supposed to put their bigger stuff in the middle - before getting seated.

Up until last trip in 2008 it was Disney fanny pack (i have no shame!)

Next trip will be a small hobo by LeSportsac (planning ahead here....)

My wife and I carry backpacks. We also try to carry the bare minimum of stuff - only what we need for the day. I will even go through our packs in the morning before we go to the parks and pull out what we don't need.

I have used backpacks and cross body bags and the rides have places to put them if needed. This year I am going to have a fanny pack. (A cute one)! I will carry my own water bottle.
