If you go into your character map if you have Windows (under Accessories and if in XP under Accessories then System Tools). If you want to type it out, just hold down ALT while typing 0176.

Here's a couple of links that might be helpful. I can't make them all work but did find some symbols I've been looking for. I never can remember how to do the cent symbol. It's ALT 0162 or ALT 155. ¢
