What do you to stock in your room? (food wise)

We have a family suite at AoA and I'm pretty excited about the kitchenette. Particularly because our kids (3 & 6) eat just about the same thing for breakfast everyday and I think we'll be able to save some $ and spend our quick service credits on lunch and dinner instead.

So, I was going to place an order with Garden Grocer with some breakfast essentials (milk, yogurt, cereal bars, fruit), but wondered if anyone had any musts that they have on hand. I may add PBJ just because that is always a meal they will both eat (but not the Uncrustables... go figure).

Thanks for any input! :)

Ttoally do it! Using credits for breakfast is a waste we find. My boys are the same (3 yr old twins). We stock boxes of cereal, bagels, PB, milk, coffee, tea (we hate WDW coffee), beer for hubby, spring water (we buy the big gallon jugs and use our thermoses to keep it frozen and cool for the day), fresh fruit, yogurt, some snacks. We have used both Garden Grocer and Orlando Grocery Express and been happy with both. I am considering using Publix delivery service next year or Amazon Pantry if it expands their offerings.

If your kids are picky and won't drink water (I have one water drinker and one who will refuse it even if he's thirsty) juice boxes or those flavor squirt in bottles like mio. I pack our travel snacks in smaller Tupperware containers so we can refill the containers with larger size packages of goldfish or cheerios in our room. If anyone is a coffee drinker, the coffee mate to-go creamers made the in room coffee drinkable. Also, never underestimate the power of a pack of fruit snacks.

PB, bread, more PB, and more bread. I always get some microwave Chunky Soup as well for those late nights when the kids decide they are starving.

Definitely water, whether the gallon jugs (we get those and fill our bottles) or water bottles because orlando water is gross. we don't even want to brush our teeth with orlando water (okay, maybe an exaggeration, but we definitely don't rinse with it!)

Agree with PPs about wine/beer if that's your thing. We like a nightcap to relax after the parks.

Whatever snacks and fresh fruit they would like. To use a snack credit on a banana IS bananas.

Besides what folks have mentioned, we also did hot dogs and buns and park snacks (individual applesauce pouches, goldfish, etc).

Between quick breakfasts in the room, snacks on the go, and the hot dog backup meals we were set.

We ordered cereal, milk, yogurt, cheese sticks, bananas, grapes, goldfish, and peanut butter cracker packs. Breakfast in the room, while we get ready, saves money and time.

What size fridge do they have in the suites? The minifridges in the regular rooms are crap - warm spots so things go bad, cold spots that freeze stuff and ruin them too. Hopefully the suites have better ones.

We’re staying in a family suite for 5 nights in January and I’m planning on ordering bottled water, those individual cartons of shelf stable whole milk (to take into the parks for our toddler), cereal, milk, granola bars, bananas, cheese sticks, applesauce pouches, goldfish, microwave popcorn, and wine.

We’re on the quick service dining plan and have two breakfasts planned (paying OOP), but we’ll need breakfast food for the other three mornings. Most of the food is for the toddler, since she won’t be on the dining plan but doesn’t eat enough to justify purchasing a kids meal. She can eat off of my plate and then have some fruit and cheese to go with whatever I have. The microwave popcorn is for an evening snack for the rest of us.

I tend to get carried away ordering groceries. On our last trip, we ordered so much that, on our last day, we made sandwiches and packed snacks for the flight home and still ended up throwing a bunch of perishable food away. So I’m trying to reign it in for this trip.

Always have breakfast in room.

HINT: If you use QDP in food court use your mug for your drink then get a bottle of orange juice or milk with your meal credit to take back to room for breakfasts.

We bring:
For breakfast - small yogurts, muffins, bagels, creme cheese, dried fruit, granola bars. Sometimes bunches of bananas and grapes.
For lunch/dinner at pool or room - rolls, lunchmeat, cheese and small mustard (or packets). Pringles (don't crush).
For snacks - goldfish, peanut butter or cheese crack sandwiches, granola bars.
Case of bottled water (take a few to park), sleeves of soda and beer.

It's a"dorm style" with a freezer compartment (for ice cube trays basically).

Typically a bottle of Crown for the wife and I after a long day.

Food/Drink:

Cereal
Milk
Yogurt
Crackers
Muffins
Cookies
Stuff for Sandwiches
Coffee
Creamer
Water
Gatorade

I take the stuff I don't normally allow DD to have. The single serve "fun pack" boxes of cereal, Pop Tarts, cupcake goldfish. etc. We are on holiday. I just buy a 2L jug of milk. I also brought bowls and spoons from the dollar store in my luggage. It made morning much quicker as she could eat while we got ready.

We stocked eggs, coffee, milk, american cheese, bread, chips and salsa, cheerios, sugar, bananas, granola bars and water. The second amazon prime order we added tomato soup and refried beans so we could use up ingredients by making grilled cheese and tom soup and nachos.

We found oatmeal cups to be a very fast, hearty breakfast. We also pack microwavable ravioli cups for a quick lunch. Fresh fruit is always great to have on hand with our kids.

We’re in a similar boat (dining plan, kids 2 & 5yo, want to eat breakfast in the resort and bring some snacks). Here’s the food we ordered at Garden Grocer for our 5-day trip in Dec:

Case of 24 Nestle jr bottles of water
pack of mini cereals
1L of milk
Bananas
Package of apple slices
A bottle of wine
Yoghurt
A bag of pirates booty popcorn (to snack on while we wait for HEA)
ClifZ bars
Clif bars
Greek yoghurt

we always do breakfast in the room. Saves so much money and time. It's worth it to me, as well, to either have or purchase the refillable mugs and use them for coffee in the morning and drinks whenever you're in the room, especially if you're on a longer trip.
we pack: bagels, cream cheese, fresh fruit, Nature's Bounty bars, cheese crackers.
