I have holding points and they have to be used to book a reservation no more than 60 days in advance. I tried to book something (anything/anywhere) for the weekend of 10/16 -10/20 and NOTHING is available. Does anyone know if the weekend of 10/31 through 11/04 might be just as busy??

I'm afraid it will be. Not only is it Halloween, but it is still Food & Wine Festival time. It never hurts to call and ask, but I would anticipate the resorts being sold out for those dates too. How about Hilton Head or Vero Beach? You might have better luck there.

When do they have to be used by? From October 1 through the end of the end if going to be very tough. You will need to be persistent and take chances. If a day or two opens up far enough out, you may want to book it and then keep calling to add around it. We did this a few years ago and did finally get 5 nights in a row. But it was risky.
