What do you think the lowest price you could offer and get through ROFR?

I am trying to purchase a new add on, but wonder what the lowest price people think would get accepted at each resort

I have read the thread on passed ROFR, but sure how updated that is

So what does the public think are good prices for the buyer in each property?

For me I say
BLT 92 point
AK 77 point
BCV 83 point
OKW 60 point
WL 70 point

Would you all agree with these prices?

Th real question is "When was the last time ANY contract was ROFR'd?"
(besides BCV)

There seems to be a freefall. Once I started seeing prices passing ROFR in the '30s, I was shocked. I saw '40s for OKW and low '50s for SSR.

Personally,

I think whatever a seller will accept, Disney will accept with the exceptions of maybe Beach club and bay lake.

We paid $55 pp on 200 ssr points and seller paid all closing costs back in July.

The thread for ROFR is kept pretty up to date. The date that the contract passed is listed so that should give you an idea of what people are offering and buying for.

As previously mentioned, however, it appears that Disney is not exercising ROFR too often, with the exception of BCV. So, if you find a contract and a seller willing to sell for a lower price, it is certainly worth a shot at this point in time!

You can make any offer you want, but you'll have to get the seller to agree to your terms.

Given the recent, seeming collapse of ROFR by Disney, one would have to be a fool to buy through DIsney for anything other than BLT .. that is unless you just dont care about money. And if you dont care about money, why buy DVC at all?

That being said, your prices above seem reasonable from a sellers perspective. It all depends on how long you are willing to wait to secure a contract. You could certainly hold out and try to get $5-10 per pt cheaper depending on resort and # of points, etc. It doesnt appear that Disney is very interested in buying points given they are having trouble selling the points they have in most cases.

When we bought our resale contracts I was not concerned about price. I was concerned about how many points were available on the contract. We were lucky enough to find fully loaded contracts which we were able to rent off the extra points. This had a bigger impact on lowering my costs versus negotiating price.

I agree with this post. At this post ROFR is basically non existent except for Beach Club Villas. It is simply a matter of how low a seller will go. One might wonder what the lowest price people think would get accepted by sellers at each resort.

I had $48 pass for OKW just this month - its really whatever the seller will accept right now - disney has been mostly absent for sometime in the ROFR market

But REALLY? How low do you think Disney will let it go?

$34.60 at SSR

I am the possibly lucky winner of this auction...however now I am wondering if this might be more hassle than it's worth. I've spoken to ******** who is sending me a sales contract that they will send with the ROFR paperwork. Then, I've got to fork over the cash and wait for a response from Disney. I would honestly love impressions from the community on whether there is really any chance Disney will let this one slide through.

Also, anyone know about how long Disney is taking to respond these days?

If they take the full 30 days I figure it'll cost me a couple of months interest on the holiday charges I was planning on paying off in January as well as a small hit for pulling this cash from a CD (although not much given the deplorable interest rates being paid). That plus the risk of forking over cash to ******** (who upon review appear to be totally reputable) aren't enormous but it's still something I am going to be tossing and turning about...

Brian,

Thanks much for the links...I've decided to go ahead and go for it and cross my fingers. Here's to hoping I get to hear "Welcome Home" again!

Dang you were the other bidder. :woohoo: Beat me by $100 dollars with that snipe program. I am pretty sure you will pass ROFR. I had a contract for SSR that went thru at $46 for Sept use year a month ago. That SSR ebay contract was a steal at the price you paid. The only things that I did not like were you had to pay them the FULL bid amount and no escrow. Most of the time I just put a deposit and pay the rest after ROFR. Well enjoy your points and keep us informed when you pass! Here is some pixie dust pixiedust:

It will pass....Disney won't get involved with BKA auction.

That may have been my contract. Its a buyer's market now. Any reasonable offer should be given a chance. Notice I said reasonable. I sold at a price I thought reasonable for the size and merit of the contract. Others should do the same.

I think the numbers listed are a bit high. My experience from selling many contracts in the last few months is this (and my contracts were for the most part small and had banked points)

BLT =$100
AKV =$80-83
VB =$45-55
BCV = $82-85
OKW = $48-52

I only sold these resorts and they are the only ones I can speak to. I did use the Timeshare Store, the sponsors of this board and another broker. Trying to sell the points myself in this climate proved fruitless.. I am glad I went to a broker. The cost was more than worth it in time, effort and reward.

I can recommend the Timeshare Store if anyone else is interested in selling their points. Plus the other broker I used was good too.
