What do you think of today's pop music?

I listen to almost all styles of music, across all decades. The only thing I don't really ever listen to is country, rap, and like speed metal... I grew up mostly listening to rock, but I have always liked pop, and even liked many disco songs when all the rest of the rockers were going on about how it sucked. I listen to anything I like, including some newer pop. I don't mind that Cake By The Ocean song, and I own two versions of Closer, which I do like. The other songs you posted, I don't think I've heard before. I don't actively listen to the radio anymore, but when I do come across a newer tune I really like, I'll download it. I think every older generation says that the newer generation's music is awful and won't last.

It’s been that way since Elvis shook his hips and The Beatles invaded America.

My daughter introduces me to some really good 'pop' music when she can find any - she's not a teen, but close enough to know the up and coming stuff. Elvis and the Beatles had talent. They wouldn't have stayed around if they didn't have the talent. There's just so much more access to media now and people fill the empty space with crap.

There is some good stuff out there! Even the younger stuff!
Can't over-generalize and lump everything together.

Marie Digby, Sara Bareilles - they can compose songs and sing circles around most of today's super popular auto-tuned pop divas.
