Just read the specs and there are many Nikon users here...so what do you think?

It looks very promising, based on the published specs. I'll reserve judgment (and my possible order...) until it's on shelves and there are some professional and user reviews to peruse.

I'm with YEKCIM. So far so good. I've read a number of some hands-on reviews that are very positive. I've seen a few images that look great and even that video feature has impressed me more that I thought it would. The high ISO performance looks to be on par ("maybe" "slightly" better than) the D300.

I'm liking what I'm seeing so far, but to make my final judgement I'd like to see more real world images once it has been released for sale. I'd also like to hold one in my hands first too.

Did not see the earlier post on the D90, so started this one. Just sold all my Canon 30D stuff and thought I would start looking to the future. Never owned a Nikon but this cam looks interesting.
Looked at the D300 and it is a beast, hoping this body is more streamlined and curious about the video aspect. I will be looking forward to your opinions when it becomes available. I do check dpreview and others.

Thanks,

Jack

If the resolution was taking a more substantial jump, I'd be giving very serious consideration toward selling my D80 for one of these. As it is, I don't think the jump from 10 to 12 megapixels is enough to justify the upgrade on it's own.

But I'm still thinking about it. My D80 is worth a lot more today than it will probably bring in a year or two from now ...

When I work I usually carry 40-60 pounds of gear(that is when I am out of the states) but trying to find a cam that will fit many purposes with HQ/IQ. If I want bulky I could carry my Hass..very curious about the Motion Picture mode in motion JPEG.
