What do you think of the Hogwarts letter I made to tell my DD we're going to WWoHP?

What does disboard think? I apologize if this is in the wrong place, any help with where to post would be awesome. I just want to share a little Potter love and show disboard how I plan to surprise my DD with her birthday trip to US/IoA!

Oh my goodness, that is absolutely wonderful!!
Honestly, I would be over the moon to receive something like this,
even more so the fact that it's homemade!

Looks gorgeous!
:thumbsup2

Fantastic! I considered this for my girls but some troubling events over the last couple of weeks has zapped some of my enthusiasm. Your daughter is very lucky.

I would be happy to design one for you in photoshop if you'd like, you'd only need to print it. I stained the paper with coffee to give it an old look but I'm sure it'd be just as cool if you only printed and folded it. :)

I LOVE it! Made me think of this "owl" delivery system for HP birthday invites I recently saw online. http://www.themarysue.com/harry-potter-party/

You might think about having a balloon like this attached to yours?

Both of my kids have had HP birthday parties the past two years (and my son plans to do it again this year). I've never had more fun coming up with party decor, food, activities. So many FUN ideas in the Potterverse!

I hope y'all have a wonderful trip!

Do you mind if I "pin" your letter to Pinterest so others can feed off your great idea :)

Wow its soooo amazing:thumbsup2
Im 24 but still i would be thrilled to get something like this

WOW!!! My daughter would LOVE to receive a letter like that (she makes them for herself all the time!!) Now I have to try and figure out how to re-create it for her for our trip in early October! Amazing!!!

It was really much easier than I anticipated. I used this tutorial for a a guide. After I printed, I used a paint brush and gently brushed coffee from breakfast onto the back of the page as to not smear the ink as much as possible. This gave it a nice random pattern and aged look without having to buy any special paper. On the envelope, I stupidly used coffee on the front of the page, it is much more faded than the rest. I simply set them out on my cars dashboard and let them bake in the sun about 15 minutes, they were dry and ready to be folded!

That is really cool - you have to post and tell us her reaction when she gets it!

Thank you! That is such a generous offer but I still have so much going on that chances are I would never get around to doing them before Wed.
Are you going to take a video of your daughter opening the letter? That would be cool to see!
