What do you think of the "drinking" t-shirts that people wear at Epcot?

This times 948833. For some reason.people on their high horse about what Walt would want. Disney was built to. Make money. Not to make people happy
[/QUOTE]

Well, I might say it was built to do both - they are selling happy experiences after all. The trick is that for some that includes alcohol, for others it doesn't, and some land in between.

He only allowed drinking at the private club and at the bar at the Disneyland hotel stop. On certain occasions, like opening day, he had bars in back stage areas for the press and VIPS. So obviously he did not want a carnie atmosphere in the parks but was not opposed to drinking in general. Given that, I don't think he'd want drinking around the world.

To be honest when Walt was alive it was a different time, things have changed. I don't think any of us really know or should try to think what he would want,

I think wearing a cotton t shirt in FL is incredibly uncomfortable no matter what it says. The same goes for jeans. Better to dress for the climate than wear hideous t shirts. And graphic tees are really for kids anyway.

Then call pretty much everyone I know a kid! Graphic tees for life!!!

I don’t really like them but they don’t bother me as much as actually seeing drunk people at Food & Wine behaving badly. We saw groups dressed in togas, jumping up and down, screaming ‘Toga Toga,’ one falling & laying on the ground at Italy.

I thoroughly enjoy cocktails, especially at Trader Sam's. I drink by the pool especially when we rent a cabana. I usually drink at dinner. If I were able to travel to WDW during the time when "drinking around the world" takes place, I would probably participate.

However, I would not get knock down drunk. I would not wear one of those t-shirts, because I think that they are in bad taste.

There is a time and a place for everything. I don't think that wearing a shirt with our beloved Disney characters getting drunk is appropriate in WDW, IMHO.

but it doesn't seem like too much to ask to have people wear clothing that is family friendly.
I'm not sure drinking alcohol, or even adults broadcasting that they do, is family unfriendly?
Disney definitely plays into the alcohol aspect of World Showcase, what with advertisting drinking around the world
::yes:: I mean, it's called the Food and Wine Festival.

I often wondered how quickly kids grow up in Las Vegas?
As age-appropriately admire in any other populous, sprawling city?
There are some drinking shirts that are decently tasteful, but for the most part, things like
Bibbity Bobbity Boozed or Off with their corks are tacky.
I guess it would depend on the graphics. Both of those sound amusing.

Does anyone else find these t-shirts cringe-worthy? I wonder what Walt Disney would think of seeing the Walt Whiskey t-shirt.o_O Not very family-friendly!
I'm not at all opposed to moderate drinking, but I am opposed to glorifying drunkenness, so I don't particularly like the shirts.

I guess I just like my fluff fluffy.

Best line of the day!

Las Vegas has billboards I have not seen in any other populous, sprawling city.

I have never seen a billboard in any other city advertising for Girls Direct To You!

Or the Bally's Jubilee billboard from years ago that said: How Bad Could it Be? Because Boobs.

Or the Battlefield Vegas billboard that said: Shoot a school kid, only $29

The best had to be when the United Church of Bacon put up billboards. Bacon is our God because Bacon is real. Praisebacon.com

There are some pretty wild ones here for strip clubs on Bourbon St.

Well, Walt Disney famously drank quite a lot. His favorite drink was a Scotch Mist, so I suppose he would be quite tickled by the "Malt Whiskey" shirt (which my husband has, by the way).

I think they are clever and funny, in general, when they are Disney themed. What I find tacky are all the wine themed items marketed towards "moms." Those are just annoyingly dumb.

But where else am I going to wear my Drinkerbell shirt if not at Epcot? Seems like that’s the only time and place for it🤷‍♀️

Nobody knows 100%. But Walt revealed his preference on the subject so we have a very good idea.

I've seen some awful behavior at Disney (in the parks and at the resorts) and ironically none related to visible drunkenness. I know some people have seen drunken behavior but you don't need a shirt to act like that lol.

The shirts don't bother me, I agree some are played out (but I would add things like "most expensive day ever, I work to afford my wife's Disney habit, etc etc" to that list personally), some are corny in a cute way and some are corny in an eye roll way.

I don’t know, maybe running errands?

Wear what you like where you like. It’s your choice. The fact that I think it’s in bad taste shouldn’t affect you whatsoever. I’m sure that my t-shirt with the word, “Feminist” on it offends some people. It doesn’t stop me from wearing it every chance I get.

I don't mean to diminish your experience. But I think I'd be a lot more upset about it if World showcase were something other than a glorified internationally themed shopping mall/eatery you pay big bucks to get into and give the kid coloring to keep them occupied. DCA was like that too originally. But DCA got millions of dollars of upgrades. World Showcase got coloring books and food and wine. HAHAHA. Oh boy. A Brazilian chicken wing. I could eat 20 of em..... That will be $100 please. HAHAHA.
