What do you think of our chances for Canadian discount?

With so much pent up demand, even with capacity increasing, sometimes park reservations are low or no availability. I have a trip booked December 9 - 18 this year. Do you think it's worth it to wait a while to see if a discounted ticket comes out? Or do I just suck it up and pay $736 U.S. for my theme park ticket (over $900 CAD!). UCT is a little better at $679 U.S.

I don't think there will be anything offered until the border is open officially, and even that is uncertain. Given it's a December trip, that is filling up, I'd get the tickets. Prices suck for sure. I'd probably have done a package, but not sure where you are staying (I think maybe you are staying offsite or DVC). A package at least you could probably apply the discount if one does come out (for tickets, doubt there will be one for rooms given how hard it is to find a room that time of year at this point).

With the huge demand for travel, I don't think there is any incentive for Disney to offer a discount. Typically discounts are offered as a way to fill rooms.

I 'm a DVC member and I can tell you there is basically NO availability for December. I don't know about the cash resort side but I would expect it to be very busy as well.

I like the idea of booking the package and being able to apply the discount if there is one.
My opinion is that there won’t be a significant discount for all the reasons mentioned above. Demand is soaring and I just don’t think they need to offer one right now. At very least our dollar is much better than it’s been in awhile . That helps.

Yep I don’t see any discounts in the near forties especially when they used to give discounts to help with the high exchange rate.. our dollar is doing better and ppl are desperate to travel

Well the dollar is about 17cents per cheaper than the last few years! I remember looking at credit card bills with exchange OVER 1.4!!

ecaxtky they used to need to try and entice us because exchange rates were so high. Now we are all like wow the dollar is good and are more willing to exchange

Yeah, I'm DVC so no room discount. I think you're right my chances are slim this year. Roll on credit card billing date. :rotfl:

I’d buy from UT. Very doubtful we’re getting any discounts. They have to re coup Covid losses.

I read somewhere on the boards a good point that our dollar is holding steady so maybe they won't feel the need to entice us to visit. Plus, they also know we are itching to travel and a discount won't really be a deal breaker for most. People just want to get there!
