WOuld these be good gifts for boys ages 6-8? My two nephews would love these. Their parents would be ok with the toy guns. They have a huge backyard so they can run hide and shoot. WOuld like opinions if these would be fun or a waste of money.

and where can i find the best deal on these since I need two for the boys and 2 gift for their sisters and parents 6 gifts so looking for best deal. Thanks

Perfect for this age group. Target or Toys R US..
Not sure about sales though...

Great for this age. If their dad is a big kid at heart you might want to get him one also. Also think about it for the girls. Thast way they can all play.

TRU usually has the best buys for those and the best choices.

I am a kid at heart, knocking on 40. I bought one to shoot my husband with. Love it!
:cool1:

I find darts all over the house...under the dining room hutch for example [found last night]. Beyond that great way to get their energy out...whenever friends are over they have battles all over the house. I give them a basket and have them collect the darts when finished. Buy xtra darts.

:thumbsup2

They are great fun for boys! We have a couple rules: no head shots and not in the house. One tip: don't buy the new camo darts. They look cool, but the kids have a hard time finding the bright orange ones in the yard. Great idea on their part though cause you'd never find them and need more right away.

perfect for boys.. my 4 year old has been using them since he was 2.. and he knows to only shoot at the feet..

my kids love them, I 2nd buying extra darts. They disappear fast.

My DS6 loves them. He plays with our neighbor who is 12 with them. Our neighbor is really into them.

I just bought a 2 gun set with a score board at Target for under $20. Toysrus had the same one with only one gun. I ended up donating that one and getting the one at Target for DS6. Target has a ammo case that looks cool. I amy get that for his birthday in Feb. Oh and the set I bought has whistling darts. Interested to see how they work.

I don't normally allow toy guns but these don't look like real guns so I'm ok with them. My ds loves them. He is getting a few for Christmas.

We have three here and my son and his friend always play with them. I find those little projectiles everywhere. The boys are 14 and 15. I think it's a great toy but I would not have allowed a gun for my 6yo. When he was 6, I wanted him doing more with his imagination. He he created a weapon, it would have been fine. If their parents are good with it, go for it.

Yes, buy extra darts. A friend of mine's son has one that he got for his birthday in Nov '09. I bought him extra darts for Christmas last year. He loves it. About 11 years ago friends of ours bought my husband and I a set. We had a blast chasing each other around the house. Not sure what happened to those but they are gone now after 2 moves. :(

They are perfect for that age. We have "Nerf Wars" at our house. I'm not sure who has more fun; the adults or the kids.

I know Walmart has a small one for less than $10 right now.

Here is another idea. It is a book where you make a marshmallow shooter. I found it last year at Christmas time at our grocery store. My DS and DH had a blast making one. They painted it with camo colors. He changes and makes it over all the time. It has several different designs. For some you need to get more pipe and cut it to size. Makes a nice project.

My kids (ds 9, dd 10) LOVE Nerf. DS started his nerf gun collection when he was about 4. He accidentally shot me in the eye before close range with the huge one that had a stand and clips, ouch! I make my kids wear goggles when using the big ones now. I got ds a big one from Walmart last month for $15 and dd a clear interchangable one from Tarjay for about the same. I'd def buy extra ammo.

:rotfl: Those darts are like that plastic Easter basket grass ... You'll never know where you'll find them!

Our third grade DS can't get enough of the Nerf guns. As a note, the clip-fed guns seem to do better than the others. The pistol-type, especially, seems to jam. So, yeah... there will be Nerf under our tree once again.

Yep! We found one stuck to the side of the dryer when we moved. :rotfl:

We bought the BIG ones for DS9 and DS6 this year. We have a couple of medium sized ones already. DH is drooling over the vulcan cannon but he will just have to wait until his birthday in February! He says he wants to take it to work (like they don't have enough guns in the REAL Army to play with??).

They are a real boy-pleaser and what's nice is that they come in all shapes/sizes and prices. I have often found good deals at Kohl's, especially if you get the 30% off coupon! Best place I have found so far to buy extra darts too (with coupon)...
