We are going October 5-8, 2015 to WDW, and staying at POFQ. It will me me and my husband, our daughters (ages 3.5 and 1.5 years), and my husband's parents. I am making our itinerary now so we can pick our ADR's. What do you think? We went last year to MK for 2 days, but we haven't been to Epcot, AK, or DHS.

Monday:
early breakfast: 'Ohana
Epcot after breakfast
lunch: QS (maybe Sunshine Seasons)
Dinner: Biergarten (or should we do Coral Reef?)
Illuminations

Tuesday:
Animal Kingdom
Breakfast: Tusker House (as early as possible)
Safari ride first thing after b'fast
lunch: QS (Flame tree)
Afternoon parade
Go to MK for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (at 4 or 5?)
Dinner: QS in AK or MK?

Wednesday:
Hollywood Studios
Breakfast: no plans
Lunch: 50's Prime Time Cafe
Fantasmic package with Mama Melrose's

Thursday:
Magic Kingdom
Breakfast: Cinderella's Royal Table (as early as possible)
Lunch and Dinner: QS (no plans)

I'm wondering if there will be enough to do in Epcot and DHS to allot full days? Or should we combine them but lose out on some fun meals?
Also - Should we do Tusker House for lunch or breakfast?
Are these good character meal choices?
Is the Fantasmic dinner package worth it?

Thank you so much for any help or suggestions!

Tuesday comments:

If you are considering doing dinner at QS in AK, then I would suggest to get a light breakfast from a cart in AK and do Tusker House for a late breakfast as I have seen numerous people write that at the end of breakfast you can sample both lunch and breakfast options. You might research that more though just to make sure I'm not missing some constraint. Then you can do Flame Tree for dinner.

I believe there is currently no parade at AK, and I am unaware that one is scheduled to be put in before your trip.

The F! packages usually have earlier dinner times. For September, the latest time showing is 5:00 PM for Mama Melrose. That's a lot of food when combined with the 50s Prime Time lunch. Could you swap 50s to dinner and have MM at lunch? The lunches are showing starting at 11:30 AM.

I don't see any BOG reservations which might be nice quick service lunch place for the girls.

I haven't done the parties myself, but early at AK followed by a party at MK sounds long to me. I might plan a resort morning, or sleep in, visit DTD before the party - however if you're a park vet and know you can go that long, have at it!

I definitely don't think either DHS or Epcot can be done in less that a day *unless* you don't care for shows, or you've been there enough to know there are attractions you aren't interested in doing again. This is especially true with 2 table service meals at DHS.

I read better reviews consistently for Biergarten over Coral Reef, but my whole group thoroughly enjoyed Coral Reef for both food and atmosphere - maybe make that choice based on whether you think you'll be in Future World or in World Showcase and minimize walking.

Yes. In fact, if you can do Epcot in under TWO days, I will tell you that you're not getting anywhere near enough out of that park :)

Your itinerary looks great! I'd go QS at MK over AK, unless you really like Chinese food. Yak and Yeti QS (mostly Chinese food) is good, but MK has better options, IMO. Personally, I'd go over to MK and hit Columbia Harbor House if you want QS, or try to get ADRs for Be Our Guest if you are ok with a full service meal. BoG is my favorite restaurant in WDW.

We love both Biergarten and Coral Reef, so it depends what you want. Music, dancing, a buffet, and giant beers, or a great meal in front of a huge aquarium? If you do go to Coral Reef, I'd suggest waiting a little extra and requesting a tank-side table. Well worth the extra wait.

I think the Fantasmic Dinner Package is worth it, though we got by without it last year. I don't think that time of year is horribly crowded, so you may be able to get away with not doing it. Of course, there really aren't much better dining options in HS than MM.

Monday:
early breakfast: 'Ohana I WOULD HAVE BFAST AT EPCOT'S AKERSHUS ROYAL BANQUET HALL DUE TO TRAVEL TIME.
Epcot after breakfast
lunch: QS (maybe Sunshine Seasons) I WOULD HAVE QS IN THE WORLD SHOWCASE, AMAZING FOOD.
Dinner: Biergarten (or should we do Coral Reef?) IMHO, CORAL REEF IS OVERATED. BIERGARTEN IS A BLAST OR THE DINNER AT GARDEN GRILL IS AMAZING AND A CHARACTER MEAL.
Illuminations

Tuesday:
Animal Kingdom
Breakfast: Tusker House (as early as possible)
Safari ride first thing after b'fast
lunch: QS (Flame tree)
Afternoon parade
Go to MK for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (at 4 or 5?) IF YOUR AT MK AT 4 OR 5, EAT THERE. FLAME TREE IS ALOT OF FOOD SO YOU MAY NOT NEED A HUGE MEAL.
Dinner: QS in AK or MK?

Wednesday:
Hollywood Studios
Breakfast: no plans
Lunch: 50's Prime Time Cafe I AGREE WITH OTHER POSTER, TOO MUCH FOOD FOR BOTH? LOL IMHO, HS DOESN'T HAVE ALOT OF GOOD QS OPTIONS, I WOULD GO WITH PIZZA PLANET FOR A QUICK LUNCH.
Fantasmic package with Mama Melrose's

Thursday:
Magic Kingdom
Breakfast: Cinderella's Royal Table (as early as possible)
Lunch and Dinner: QS (no plans)

I WOULD DO FULL DAY AT EPCOT FOR SURE, YOUR IN LAWS WOULD LOVE IT. IMHO, I'M NOT A BIG FAN OF DS, BUT I LOVE FANTASTIC AND THERE A FEW GREAT THRILL RIDES AND RESTAURANTS. NOT ALOT FOR YOUNG ONES, BUGS PLAYGROUND AND THE CHARACTERS ARE GOOD.
Also - Should we do Tusker House for lunch or breakfast? EARLY BREAKFAST

I wouldn't do a TS lunch and dinner on the same day. Way too much food too close together. Tusker House is our favorite character meal. Maybe do it after the safari and then have a very late lunch/very early dinner instead of 3 big meals that day. Are you on the DDP? If not, I wouldn't do more than 1 TS per day and probably not even that many...
