We are going to Disney in a few weeks. I am trying to fit the Sci-Fi in for dinner one night. I had planned to go on Saturday, our 1st day there, before we go to Fantasmic. (We will be in MGM that day) However, Fantasmic is at 7:00 that night, which would put us having to eat around 4:00 or so. That seems a bit early for us.

I am wondering if this plan would be too much: On Sunday we will be at the AK and then go to Cirque for the 9:00 show that night. Do you think it would too much to go to dinner at Sci-Fi around 5:00-5:30 that night? Our other options for dinner would be Ohana's or House of Blues. Does anyone think actually going into a park would be a problem w/ timing and all? We certainly can't be late for Cirque.

I hope this makes sense! TIA! :sunny:

Why would you have to eat at 4pm? If the average time to eat is around 1 hour, you'll be done by 5pm. That still puts you 2 hours before Fantasmic.
We just came back from a weekend at WDW - Fantasmic was at 7:30pm, we entered the theater at 6:30ish and we got seats about 10 rows from the front in the center section (dead center, I may add).

If you decide to do Sci-Fi on Sunday straight from AK, you'd have to exit the park at least by 3:30pm if you're doing Disney transport because you have to factor in the wait time for the bus, the bus ride itself, walk to the front gate of MGM, then walk time to Sci-Fi, just for dinner. Say you're done at 6:30 or 7pm, you'd then have to take a boat to S/D, get off, get on a bus to DTD. Sounds tiring to me.

Why not do Sci-Fi for lunch instead (depending what time you get in) and just do a counter service/snack for dinner. That way you can get a tray of food and bring it in to the Fantasmic theater with you. They allow food in there and it's probably the easiest, less hassle way to solve your dillema.
