What do you think about the Anaheim Sheraton for 1 night?

We are thinking about changing our reservations again! We are driving from N. California on Sat. June 15th--we were planning on staying at DLH for 3 nights ($129 plus tax, etc.) Checking in sometime in the early afternoon. If we drop one of our nights at DLH we will save the one nights stay and we will end up with a lower rate for the 2 remaining nights at DLH. We are currently getting charged $129 plus taxes for all three nights because one of the nights is Saturday. Switching to the Sunday-Monday stay, we will pay $99 plus tax per night. Our total savings will be around $225.

We can use our Starwood points and stay at Anaheim Sheraton and save some money. We have stayed here in the past and liked it. I don't remember what the shuttle was like or if it is really within walking distance of the main gates at DL. Our plan is to just get to Anaheim, swim, try to do a few rides, eat, and try to see Fantasmic our first night there. I know it will probably be pretty crowded on Saturday--so we really don't have much hope to do too much at the parks.

I think I'm going nuts! What do you think? :D

Thanks!
Sue:)

Let's see... you can stay in a 3-star hotel for a free night using your Starwood Points and therefore save $225 on your onsite, and you wonder if we think you are crazy? :D

I think you are very smart. :D

Hi, we are going to disneyland June 22-28, I have ressies at the sheraton Anaheim and am a starwood preffered guest member, I bought our Sat night stay for 3,000 points, also I think they have points and pay where you can use some points and some cash available for this hotel, you would have to check on their web site! I read somewhere on these boards that they have there own trolley that goes to disneyland so they don't have to make other stops, making it quicker. Expedia has good rates for this hotel, dh is gov worker so we got good rates through sheratons web site. We have never been to California, we're from Ohio, can you tell me what you liked about the hotel? I have been going back and forth on a few things myself, thinking about Embassy suites south, I just can't make up my mind! I think I'm going crazy with planning too! [ smile] well have fun .......goofy4mickey

Teri, Thanks for not thinking I'm nuts! We are trying to cut some costs where we can!:)

goofy4mickey,
(by the way, I like your name!:D)

We stayed at the Anaheim Sheraton about 7 years ago. It was really nice then. We had a huge room on the ground floor ( I think that the rooms are 500 sq.ft!!). We were right next to the pool--we could go in and out of our sliding door to the pool. It worked out great because we had one child who needed a nap and the other wanted to swim in the pool. I was able to sit on a chair near the pool and still be close enough to watch my napping child (hubby and I took turns swimming with our older son) I remember the pool being pretty big and it was really quiet--most people were at the parks!

We decided to get two rooms at the Sheraton (our 14 year-old is bringing a friend). We have enough points to stay the whole 3 nights--but my kids and I really wanted to try out the DLH this time!:D We're crazy, I know!:D

I don't remember using the shuttle on that trip. I believe we just drove our own car. Now that the kids are much older, we will probably be walking or taking the shuttle--the trolley shuttle you spoke of sounds great! I might be letting the 14-year-olds go on the shuttle themselves--if it looks o.k. I think I will try another search of the boards to get more info.

Thanks for the replies!
Sue
