What do you think about a FW Dis journal?

I've been thinking lately about our upcoming trip to WDW and about the vacations I took with my parents growing up. We usually went to the Outer Banks in North Carolina and rented a beach house for a week or two each summer. One of the things I always enjoyed was the "house journal". The owner of the home would leave a journal on the coffee or dining table. Each renter would leave a passage about their family and their stay in the house. It was really neat to read about other families, their experiences, how they spent their vacation etc...

I was thinking about how neat it would be to keep a Disers journal at Fort Wilderness. A journal that just passed from one Dis family at the Fort to the next. An entry might include your site number, your rig or tenting outfit, your family info, any funny experiences, magical Disney moments, really anything at all as it relates to your stay at the Fort and your vacation.

It would be easy enough to pass around from one Dis person to the next similar to the way a refrigerator or stroller swap is done on here. Maybe even easier because you don't need to have the journal from your specific arrival date through your departure. You just need to pass it on before you leave.

So, what do you think? Anyone interested?

We used to have one at our family's summer home. The home was used by friends and family for over fifty years, it was always nice to sit down and see who was there and what the weather was like. what they ate etc. thirty years later.
I am not sure how to do it but I think its a great idea. Maybe you could start a thread just for campers trip reports. Just a thought lol.

What a great idea! We gave one to our in-laws for their cottage in Ocracoke, NC and we absolutely love reading it every year we go. It's truly fun to see and read about all the different adventures of all the families that visit.

What if a journal was at the Check-in Building? That way it would have a common place and disser's could just enter in it at their convience and then return it to the "designated" spot.

We are going December 16-22nd. I think this would have to obviously get cleared through FW, but I would love to start a journal for the FW Dissers!

This is the first time we've been to disney :Pinkbounc and I have learned so much from the disboards. :surfweb: It would be wonderful to give a little something back :goodvibes
