What do you say to make your ADRs?

Looking for some script examples of how you ask for your ADRs when the CM picks up the phone.

1. Do they ask for your reservation number first? How else do they know you are a resort guest (90+10)?
   
2. Do you give a window of options or date ranges to them?
   
3. Do you just blurt out desperately, "GIVE ME THE CRT on XX/XX at the earliest (or latest) time available for breakfast!!!"

I'm new to ADRs and sometimes lose my words on the phone flying by the seat of my pants. Trying to prepare as much as possible.

Have your res# in hand, that is the first thing they'll ask. Next is if you are celebrating anything. Then you can ask for a specific ADR on a specific date or if you have a range give the CM that as well. It is easier if you have open dates to get the ADR you want. I had a calendar in front of me with so I could look at the travel dates while making my ADR's. Once I got the ADR's I wanted, I based the park schedule around that. If you care about working with EMH's then you might have those on your calendar first and see if your ADR works in conjunction.

Hey! I just made ADR's yesterday morning. You will call, they will ask you a series of yes/no computer questions. After they are all done asking you questions, they will tell you that the next available Disney Cast Member will assist you momentarily. You'll then hold or be given right to a cast member. They will greet you, ask what they can do for you. Say "I'd like to make some reservations please". They will tell you they can assist you, ask if you have a WDW package booked. If you do, they will ask for your confirmation number, and pull up your reservation. They will ask you what dates you want to make ADR's for (I just said july 25-aug 2, the dates of my entire vacation). They will then check to see that that can be done, and then go to town on making your reservations. They will ask you the date and time and place you want, and try to get you as close as possible to your time.

If you are making multiple ADR's, they will probably wait until the end to give you all your confirmation numbers. Be prepared to write them down & GOOD LUCK!

I just dial the number and when they answer I tell them that I would like to make some dining reservations. They ask the date, the restaurant you would like to dine at and the time, and then will offer you the closest times if the time you ask for is not available. They will also ask which resort you are staying it. They are extremely nice. You can ask for the earliest time or what time the restaurant opens, or even ask for recommendations. They are very easy to work with.

What I do is simply this...I have a list in front of me with all my days planned out. Each meal has an estimated time slot I'd like for an ADR. When I call, I tell the CM which day and restaurant I want first and at what time. Something like..."OK, I'm looking for Crystal Palace at 8:00am on Thursday, Oct. 25th." If you're lucky you have your pick of times! Especially if you call right on your 90 day mark. Last November I called right at 7am and got absolutely everything I wanted including Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey and Le Cellier at my pick of times! Perfection! That is until I had to cancel that November trip

Anyhow, that's how I do it. Start with the reservations that will be hardest to get into like Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey and Le Cellier (if those are places you want to eat at of course!). Good luck!

They will ask your name, any special event and where you are staying
They give you reservation numbers for each ADR so go ahead and write those down, we have never had to use our reservations numbers just name so remember the name that you reserve under!
We always have made a little calendar before hand of the parks and stuff we would like to go to on certain days and where we would like to eat so as soon as I get on the phone I say the day and time(s) that will work best. Usually after the phone call, we don't have tochange our calendar around to work with the ADRs much at all. I would call as soon as I can ( I believe it starts at 90 days before your trip) the sooner you can call the better chances are that you will get the Resturant, day and time that you really want. Also start with the most popular resturants on your list, chef mickey, crystal palace and any of the princess stuff.

I have the info like 3prettyprincesses has and I have 4x6 cards with the date, day, restaraunt and then I fill in the time and ressie # I also, write down the person I spoke with and the time I spoke with them..saves a little frustration if a concern arises at a later time. I just called a couple days ago (at our 90 day mark) and made our ADRs, I have an itinerary document on my laptop, so I have that open while I'm on the phone and just fill in the time and reservation number for each restaurant as I go through the list.

I simply told the CM what restaurants I was looking for on what day and gave an hour time range. So our conversation went something like:

"Hi, I'm looking for Crystal Palace for breakfast on July 25th, between 8:30 and 9:30am"

and the CM looked it up and found me a time slot for my date.

Then we'd move on to the next day, restaurant and time. It seemed to work well I got all the ADRs we had planned on and within our desired time slots!

Along with what others have said, don't forget you may need a credit card for some ADRs. I forgot that California Grill needed one so had to put the poor CM on hold while I ran downstairs and got it.

I wouldn't mind doing that! They put us on hold enough so why not turn the tables on them sometimes! *LOL*

Also I have heard that if you are making ADR's for CRT or LeCellier, the popular ones, don't go through all the pleasantries when they answer. As soon as you hear a voice answer, just start talking! Say something like "Hi I need CRT for June 20 breakfast." They don't mind if you cut them off because with these time is of the essence here! If you go through the "Hi how are you today? I am so excited to be going to WDW!", your table will go to someone else!

I myself have a TA who will be on the phone at 7:00 am on my ADR day to get mine... I will be in dreamland sleeping!
