I was wanting some new ideas for stocking stuffers for DD10 and DS 5. Any ideas of what you normally put in your children's stockings? :confused3

toiletries, favorite snacks (fruit rollups, hersheys, gum) books, gift cards (build a bear, disney $, MCD's, Krispy Kreme, Borders-all in small increments) chapstick, socks, books, batteries. Coupon for a outing w/ mom or dad alone, hour reading w/ mom, mom painting nails. They love all of it

My favorite stocking ideas for my kids (DD 6 , DS 4, DS 2) are: magazines (each child gets one), wrapped foil candies, coloring book / puzzle book, matchbox cars for the boys, pretty hair clips, etc.

Another favorite from when I was little was my mom putting a lottery ticket in each of our stockings. It was so much fun to scratch off and see if we won.

Hope this helps and I'm looking forward to getting some new ideas.

My kids always get a new toothbrush and toothpaste from Santa! Not too exciting, but practical at least! I do try and get one of the cute electronic character ones. We live in an area that allows fireworks, so they also get sparklers, etc in their stocking to use on New Years Eve! :)

We always put in a movie certificate or blockbuster certificate. They love going to the movies on Christmas night...you would be surprised how many theaters are open. A nice relaxing way to end a wonderful day!

Candy, a Beanie baby, a Barbie doll, a small baby doll, small stuffed reindeer, small Bionicles/Lego sets, jewelry, wind-up toys, pencils, rubber stamps...

A chocolate santa, toiletries (like toothbrush/toothpaste/etc) hair bows, little toys (such as a mini-polly pocket) and tickets to Disney on Ice-there is always a show around this area during Christmas vacation-so I always get tix for the Jan. 1st show :)

Let's see, when I was a kid it was ALWAYS Lifesaver Book candies, M & M filled candy canes.

I got a new curling iron one year. I was REALLY excited when I got a personalized comb with my name on it. That was back before you could order all this personalized stuff. When we went on vacation every year, they never sold keychains and stuff with my name spelled correctly.

Target has in their $1 spot card games like Old Maid, Crazy 8's, and Go Fish. Otherwise things like UNO decks are good. DH has put DVD's in mine before.

Here is what I have for my dd:

1). Hello Kitty Hair Bows, notepad, and pen from the $ spot @ Target = $3
2). Winnie the Pooh colored pencils from the Dollar Tree = $1
3). A new Loving Family person & cat = $5
4). Care Bears movie = $0 (because I had a Blockbuster GC)
5). Stickers = $1

Definitely check the dollar tree, and sales areas in Wal-Mart and Target. I normally do candy but we'll be eating Halloween candy from now until July!

I alway put a new game for DD's Gameboy in her stocking. Her grandparents come over on Christmas morning to watch her open presents, but sometimes she wakes up before they get there so I let her open her stocking and that keeps her happy until they arrive. I also include candy, mittens, hair things, whatever I happen to run across that is cute and will fit. :)

Let's see: computer game, new Leapster game, music cds, Pez, toy cars, windup toys (monkey w/cymbals), chapstick, hair clips, cd case (organizer), batteries, comb/hairbrush, wallet/changepurse, cash ($5 for son), jewelry (even gold jewelry from Walmart/Target isn't outrageously priced), gift cards, small stuffed animal or puppet, books....

At our house, Santa is really trying to get away from too much candy this year, so each person in the family is only getting one regular-sized candy instead of lots of small candies. But those stockings are really going to be stuffed with lots of small toys! Since Santa only brings one medium toy to our kids, he makes up for it with all of the cool stuff in the stockings.

DS is getting hotwheels, a DVD, a PS2 game and maybe a GBA game. (he only has 3 PS2 games and 1 GBA game). He's also getting pez, hotwheels car filled with candy, small lego set. And whatever else I have stashed in my closet! Some candy for sure.

Every year Santa gives the boys a new toothbrush, ornament, book, movie or cd and carmex. Then a couple of other little things.

Our girls get a lip gloss/chapstick...and a bunch of little things...this year Santa got wallets at the Disney store when on clearance for a $1 a piece...putting a few disney dollars in there.

Santa usually brings one candy item that is not for sharing and then a bag that has to be for sharing.

Stockings are always stuffed as the elves are constantly shopping throughout the year to get the bargains. :rotfl:

We always got socks, underwear an orange and Mrs Claus would always put in some of her home made fudge. I would always take my stocking back behind my dad's chair so no one would see my new underwear. Now my son always gets a new pair of boxer shorts that he likes to wear for pjs in the summer, they are usually Disney so he can take them to Disney World when we go.
