What do you pay for snow shoveling??

2 teenaged boys are shoveling right now . We have about 15 inches of snow. They are shoveling the front walk (50 ft), a path back to the detached garage (150 ft), the front steps and across the garage door. They've been working for over an hour and are doing a good job. I'm thinking $40 or $50.

I can't judge from your measurements how big that really is (seems fairly large), but my son & a friend are out now shovelling. They're asking $30 & most are giving them $35-$40. So your offer seems right in line.

That sounds like a lot of snow, though. Honestly, I'd say $50 each.

I pay my husband by making dinner, lol. He had to go borrow a neighbor's snow shovel, which was funny cuz the neighbors only speak Spanish, and Bobby speaks Russian. I ended up getting a friend to tell me what to ask and I wrote it on a piece of paper, lol.

Our last snowstorm was 12". I paid $50. We have a very long, wide driveway and a long sidewalk to the front porch. The heavy stuff that the snowplows deposit at the end of the driveway was always a backbreaker for me. I never learned how to use the new snowblower :, and DH was away. It was such a pleasure to pay someone else and relax, sipping my hot chocolate.
The winter that DH was away a lot, I personally shoveled 36" that season, plus the neighbors. My daughter and I had to go to Disney after that as our reward!

At first I read this as YOUR teenage boys were shoveling and all I could think of was "no way I would pay my kids 40 or 50 dollars to shovel out their own driveway. Then I read it again....since not your kids I'd say that is OK.

Yep room & board & braces & driver's ed & ski trip... My 16 yr old is not appreciating the financial support at this point. He & Dad are not seeing eye to eye on the 4 hours of shoveling he & both boys did.

If they aren't your's I'd say a min of $40 -$50 dollars. More towards $50.

Last year my neighbor just got on his tractor that he rigged a plow onto and drove up and down the street clearing the sidewalks. It was awesome! It took him about 10 minutes to go around and cover about 4 city blocks worth of side walk on all sides. What a nice guy.

It's rare that we ever get more than 3" of snow so I don't really have an answer but I would certainly pay my own kids, though not as much. I would definitely still give them something like $20.

Condo association takes care of plowing our private driveway, our road & shoveling our steps & sidewalks. My car stays in the garage and I don't even need to clean it off. The only way to live if living in New England.

I had my share of that growing up & with military DH never being around. Also, I've had back surgery.

We got about 12" of snow here.
A young couple were having fun in their Polaris ATV going up and down the street. It had a plow on the front of it. Stopped and asked if we wanted help.
How much? He said $10....DEAL lol They also shoveled a lot of snow away from the cars so we could get them into the street so hey could push the snow.

BEST $10 spent all week!
