Hello all, It may be that I am ranting because money is tight for us but I went to get a haircut and a color and my hair guy charged me 100.00!!!!!!!!! Holy!!!!! Goodness I thought that was Expensive!!! What do you guys pay for a cut and a color (NO HIGHLIGHTS) just a cut and color

I pay $35 for the haircut, $50 for the color, so with tip it comes to $100.00
I think it is expensive too, but I love the way it looks. It is my one splurge on myself. But I can only bring myself to do it every 10-12 weeks.

I pay $28.00 for a cut/style. It was $80.00 (not including a tip) for color and it did not take well at all, went back and she redid it, took 1 1/2 hr each time. I have since done it at home (30 minutes and Garnier $6.00) and have been extremely pleased. DH just went to Great Clips and got a cut for $2.99, looks just like the expensive one he used to get. So there are ways to save $.

$20 for cut, $50 for highlights, $70 total. but he's a good friend, i think he charges more for his regular clientele.

It also depends on the length of the hair as well.

$86 plus tip for a sinple one process color and cut.

cut and color $60. Just a cut $28. I've been going to the same girl for at least 10 years and have followed her through 3 shops. I don't have any idea what she charges a new customer.

I don't get my hair professionally colored, so I can't comment on the price. But I used to go to an in-town salon and paid $45 for a cut - recently I learned a friend of mine goes to Super Cuts and pays $12.95. Her cut is similar to mine, so I gave it a try. Wow, no difference and I save the $!

This is why I am so THRILLED I went to Beauty School. I do my own. :thumbsup2

Yes - cut too.... :lmao: Although I will admit to teaching my tattoo'd long-hair, eyebrow pierced man how to cut the back! :teeth: I hold mirror and guide him through it. :woohoo:

Coloring is EXPENSIVE!!! Seriously expensive....

My hair: (it's a bit more extreme now, darker dark, and lighter light) But this was taken after I decided to "treat" myself and get it done.... and they totally messed it up. I should have taken a "before" but this is the "after"

Free and free. :) My mom is a hairdresser. LOL If I had to actually pay for my hair services, it would be trimmed once in awhile and all my natural, nearly black, dark brown color. Since I don't pay, I get it cut, colored, highlighted, etc. depending on what Mom wants to do with it at the time. But her prices are VERY reasonable compared to what most salons in the area charge. I think a haircut is $12 or $13, color $45 or $50, highlights I think start at $50 or $60. In nearby towns it's significantly more for the exact same things using the same products or in some cases, much lower quality products. My mom charges less and uses the more expensive products because she likes the quality. I have friends that think I'm crazy for using Graham Webb, Joico, or Sebastian shampoos and hair sprays. They cost more than what you buy at the grocery store, but are so worth it in my opinion. My hair is spoiled. LOL I have naturally curly hair that I torture on a near daily basis by washing, drying and straightening with a straight iron and curling iron, not to mention that I color and highlight it as well. After all that, I'm not using Suave (oh the horror!!!!) or even Pantene. I'm spoiled and lucky and I know it. I don't know WHAT I'll do if Mom ever gets it in her head that she's retiring or something.

Well, my last visit was $233  My own darn fault for not asking ahead of time. I usually go to a different salon, but since my stylist was out on maternity leave i decided to go to my DD's salon--big mistake. First of all, I think every stylist there had pink or blue hair. Most had tattoos and piercings and enough belly buttons to start their own bellydance school. As a fat 50yo menopausal woman, I was out of my element. Putting on a brave face, I let them do their thing. The cut is great and the color is great, except it's not the color I wanted. I specifically said "No red." Now I'm strawberry blond. Oh well, my stylist will be back soon and she'll fix it. :teeth: for less than $100

$45 for cut and color! I have a great hairdresser that works out of her home.

I pay $105 for both(weave, not color - that makes a difference) - $40/haircut
I think a color is $20 cheaper - so that would make it $80 -

What is a weave as opposed to color? Where we live, a weave is basically extensions.

45.00 haircut, 75.00 foil hightlight and 25.00 rootlift. 145.00 plus tip

I think she means - weave=highlights.

"Weave" the color in...not plop it on.

WHICH depending how many foils you get, it can cost you MORE than full color.

That's it - they weave the color in and use foils (you look like some strange science experiment!) Color is rubbed all over your hair - no foil needed -

I go to Supercuts too, I have been going to the same person for over 7 years now. I think the cut costs $14.95, I color my own hair, she puts in the highlights. That comes to $40 when I have her put the highlights in.

$20 (with tip) at Walmart of all places. I was spending a lot more than that at the mall but the girl I have now does a much better job.

I second the recommendation for Garnier (sp?) if you are looking for one overall color. It's easy to use :)

About $20 for the cut (she charges something different every time) and I do my own color (I don't do that great a job) for about $6.
