What do you mean we’re DRIVING from CA to WDW??? With 4 kids!!!!

Just wanted to chime in and say that I also have 4 kids and my dear husband and I drove from Oregon to WDW so I am so excited for you. best trip of our lives so far.

I can't believe it is already May (basically) and your trip is so close!! I'm glad you were able to do a "test drive" so to speak with everyone in the car. It sounds like things went well - Jeffrey will just need to build up his stamina for car rides. By the time you guys get home he will be a pro!! :thumbsup2

Since I've only ever been to Disneyland - I love reading about all the restaurants and such that you are making reservations at - can't wait to see how it all turns out.

Have a great week!!

Haha. I have been wanting to go to WDW since 2010 (my last trip). I hope I don't miss my friends too much

I'm sure you'll miss them but know you've got a great trip planned!!

We are looking forward to our trip but we've just done a major change to it!!! :scared1:

Yes the trip is very close!!!! He did do ok on the trip to Oregon but we did have it rough about the last 2 hours. He didn't cry the whole time but did cry about half of that time off and on. We have decided to make a big change to the trip though!! I'll give an update next.

So as I mentioned above we have made a HUGE change to our trip!!! We are NO longer going to WDW!!!! :scared1: Yes all that planning down the drain so to speak. But in other news we are still going on vacation and still going to a Disney park!!! :cool1: We have decided that we want to wait until Baby Jeffrey is a few years older before we try the cross country drive. At least if he's older then we can find ways to entertain him easier.

So our new plans are to go to Disneyland from June 14 - June 22 getting 5 day park hoppers and upgrading those park hoppers to ANNUAL PASSES!!!!! So while I'm sad that we're not going to get to do all the fun things I had planned at WDW, we are now going to get to do some of them and probably more at Disneyland!!! We're also thinking of going to Knott's Berry Farm but I first need to see if it's going to be cheaper to upgrade our Great America passes to the next level that includes Knott's or see if it'll be cheaper to just buy a day pass for there.

That is a HUGE change... Gulp. But I totally understand, I really admired your bravery for doing that, but I would honestly do the same thing.

It sounds like a GREAT trip now, and an enjoyable trip - you will all have so much FUN!

D~

I'm disappointed that we won't be seeing you after all. But I totally understand your decision ::yes:: I think you will have a great time at DLR, too! Maybe you can take a day to go to the beach! We love Huntington. :thumbsup2

So bummed we won't be sharing a SWW experience. But I know you will get so much more out of your AP and stay at Disneyland. Hopefully we will make it out there to you in 2015.

I am sorry there isn't a cross country drive in your future but I am thrilled for the change!

I'd still love to do the road trip but I think we'll wait a couple more years when the baby is a little older.

We are going to have a lot of fun!!! I told Sarah we'll still dine with the princesses (Ariel's Grotto) and she's good with that. Plus Disneyland still has the old way to do the fastpasses so I don't have to schedule our rides which will be so much easier for us!!!

I'm sad we'll miss you too. But maybe our paths will cross again either in Oregon or maybe even DL. I did put a lot of thought into it and figured my sanity was worth more than the trip cross country. :)

So am I. But I'm hoping things work out in 2015 and we can see you then and spend that time together. :goodvibes

I'm sorry to but I think this si for the best for us at this point in time. And I'm getting a year of Disney instead of just a week!!!!! Can't complain there!!!

Sandra- I know you guys will have a great trip at DLR. And getting annual passes again! Do you get the premium or the one with blackout days?
We are going over July 4 and trying to decide if we should get passes. I think our trips would be during blackout times, so would have to go with the premium.

I'm glad Sarah will still get her princesses, and Yay for the short (comparitively) car ride.

Thanks Jen!! We are looking forward to it!! We get the premium (the one with no blackouts). The reason being is our normal trip is over Christmas break so we want to make sure we can use it that trip too. Plus now that the kids are in school (not that I wouldn't pull them out because I will) most of our trips will also be during school breaks or weekend trips.

Sarah is beyond excited that she still gets to dine with the princesses! The kids are also excited because they talked to my dad yesterday and they all told him they would love it if he'd come to DL with us!! Grandpa hasn't been since I was pregnant with Jeremy so the kids haven't gone with him (Grandma has gone with us a couple times). Well my mom told me last night that my dad is in!!! They are going to meet us there and spend 2 days with us in the parks!! They are going to my cousin's wedding June 7 and then driving to Las Vegas for a few nights. They will get to Disneyland June 13 and leave June 17. We arrive June 14 and leave June 22. So they will spend Saturday doing what they want and then the other two days with us!! I haven't told the kids yet but did tell them that Grandpa is considering it and they were all so excited!!!

I feel the same way about taking kids out of school. As long as they are doing well, it can be worth it. Billy will miss the first month of first grade this year for a trip. He gets the first 3 days of school, then we are gone. Don't know how the district will feel about that, but that is life.

Cool that your Dad will meet you there. Maybe you could surprise the kids and have him walk up to them in the park.

Yay for your parents joining you! It's always good to make those memories - your kids will be so excited! (I'll bet your parents will be, too ):goodvibes

Hope that is going to be a fun trip!! I do hate that if they miss the first 3 days or last 10 days they can get de-enrolled from their home school. As his parent's you do know what is best for him and I agree the district will get over it. Are you going to ask for missed work? We did last year when we took the kids on a week long cruise to Mexico and while the secretary in the office gave me a hard time the principal told me to have a great trip. :rotfl2:

I'm thinking of having my parent's meet us for a late lunch on Saturday when they take a break from the park, then that way the kids will have time to just relax with them before the constant go, go, go of our first day in the park. That way we can also sit and plan our day out with what the kids want to take Grandpa (and grandma) on. My mom and I already have a semi plan in place but got to give the kids their input too. Or we'll have my parent's walk up to us while we're waiting to get into Disneyland on Sunday. Haven't quite figured it out yet.

My mom can't wait to get back to DL with her grandkids!!! She was there for Jeremy's first trip and now she get's to be there for Baby Jeffrey's first trip!! They both can't wait even though my dad is no a big Disney fan!! :rotfl2:

Sandra, You are an incredible Mama and Friend!!!
